Looking to add a little more deep bass with my factory Shaker 12 speaker sub. I've read about using poly fill. Does any one have any pics or info about how much to add? Does it really make any difference? Am I correct that I can just remove the bolts around the sub and take the sub out and fill in the box without having to take the box out of the car?

Use the search function on this site, there are several threads on the benefits of adding poly fill to the sub woofer enclosure. The sub is easy to extract from the enclosure, you'll figure it out. Adding poly fill does make a difference, just loosely pack it in until the enclosure is full. An affordable direct bolt in upgrade several owners (me included) have installed is this Rockford Fosgate Punch. Plenty of threads and well done how-to's here on this site on sub upgrades and adding amplifiers to satisfy your bass needs.

Just curious why only the speaker itself can't just be removed as opposed to the whole enclosure?

Anyone try this yet on the B&O sub?

Just add ployfill this morning. Took me a while to figure out this stupid bolt was holding in the speaker.

I added polyfill and upgraded to a Rockford Fosgate sub. Much better sound!

Questions! Was the Punch a direct replacement as far as bolting it back in, uses the same holes? How about the wiring? At one point in time I rewired an entire cadillac and added more speakers than it came with. Now I'm lazy about this so I'd consider a direct replacement but don't want to do any wiring if I can avoid it. Did the sound improve enough to make it worth the price of the Punch?

Holes don't line up so I drilled new holes and used #6 x 3/4" screws. You use the stock wiring in the binding posts on the speaker. "Worth" is relative, it was worth it to me and I'll be adding an amp for the sub that will be adjusted thru my LC2i. The OEM amp is a POS
