Not even remotely true. Adaptive/active knock sensing is a god send to allow these Coyote engines to survive compared to 10+ years ago on “91-93” octane. Now...if the tuner decreases knock sensor sensitivity too much, then yes, you could rattle the engine to death.Plan for a new engine if going over 650 whp on pump.
