Not going to lie! The internet had me going on the issue to until I started applying logic and common sense. Then it was pretty clear, the oil analysis results from others sealed the deal for me personally.

Even with it not being an issue, I wonder how many people Ford allowed Swaps on or buybacks because even they had no idea what the sound was. Which, really is pretty bad if they do not know their own engine design that well.

The number of people with the 2K tapping and bearing/cam issues is pretty high too. That didn't help any with trying to deduce the problems.

Ford is at the mercy of the dealers for the most part. They can only rely on what is being told, in my case they told ford I had metal chunks in oil filter, when in fact the dealer never checked. The service business isn't ran by honest abes.. they make more $ being dishonest.

there are people who got new engines and believe they needed it because they did not like the tick even though it was just the sound.

It's not a very reassuring sound honestly. It would have been better if they stated what the sound is caused by.

even if it is just the sound. I do not like it.

They have to make you aware at the time of purchase that the engine may develop this sound.
