The specs better impress. I'm not expecting a huge jump like the mid model s197 refresh but I would like to see 450+ for the gt and 330+ for the ecoboost. 5+ hp for the v6 I think is acceptable or even same hp if less weight. The new camaro is gonna come on strong in 2016, and I don't want to be left in the dust with a brand new stang

The Mustang will be a year old by the time the 6th gen Camaro hits the streets. By then upgrades will be available, not that they would likely be required.

... I just don't get it. To me, it doesn't matter if the new mustang is made of pure 24 karat gold .
Ha, it better not be... With gold weighing nearly 3x as much as steel, they'll never make the weight targets that way.

... I just don't get it. To me, it doesn't matter if the new mustang is made of pure 24 karat gold and has 1000HP. I won't order/buy a car without the TEST DRIVE. Why are you all so impatient? It's not that big of a deal.. the dang car won't be on the Dealer lot until late this year. I'm not spending $40k+ without a test drive.
Understandable and sensible. You may be waiting until winter until you test drive one or even buy whatever is on the lot.

Some of us want to order EXACTLY what we want. If you want a coupe you pretty much know what you are getting. I will have no problem ordering one without even seeing it in person (although I'd like to) or test driving one. One of the reasons many of us are impatient on hearing performance stats.

You can order a car with refundable deposit. If it arrives and you don't like it you don't buy it.

How can you say you know exactly what you want when you have no idea what the finished product will be?? So you don't "EXACTLY" know what you're getting into.. What it may be is not good enough for me

Things like coupe/vert, manual/auto, color, I know exactly how I want those. Specific trim versions, cloth/leather, Recaros or heated/cooled standard seats, MFT or base, those I'm not certain yet. Those will need to be decided after I get to sit in the car and take it for a drive. I'd like to spend the money only on what I really want, and not on anything I don't want.

I like leather, but I don't love it. I've never had NAV before in a car, and have never had Recaro or similar sport bucket seats(other than driving in Mercedes which the Mustang's likely won't match). So many things I can't just think I know.

That's between you and your dealer. Not all dealers will agree to that, especially if the car is fully loaded and expensive.

Exactly how I feel.

I could be wrong, but I thought a friend in the car business told me that until a customer actually decides to take possession of an ordered car, the dealership cannot force them to buy it. You may lose out on a non-refundable deposit, if that has been agreed upon though.

I plan on taking possession :) Unless the GT is too expensive. If that is the case, I just won't order.

Most things you know what they are and what they do. A car is a car, its not like ordering a steak and being served up fish sticks. Heated seats heat your seats. Touchscreen is a touchscreen. An automatic is an automatic. I don't need to see them to know how they function. Most options are like that there aren't that many NEW options out there. If you need to see them fine, more power to you. I know what these things will do. I don't mind taking a leap of faith. Besides a deposit refundable or non-refundable is always out there. If something comes up you can back out. And yes, I know EXACTLY what I want and what I can afford. Making up my mind has always been easy.

I understand where you're coming from, but at the same time, what is it that you think you may not like? We know it's going to be a better handling car than the current 2011+ Mustang. We know it includes a telescoping steering wheel now, memory seats are back as well (along with the electronically saved seating positions), so it should be even better to find a comfortable seating position than it is in the current ones.

Every car comes some idiosyncrasies that we all learn to deal with (lack of rear cup holders, placement of front cup holders, etc.), so I find it highly unlikely that anything would be a deal breaker (for me).

Thank you for proving my point exactly. If you don't know what most options do in a vehicle you have probably been living under a rock for the past few decades. Sure we may not know the exactly feeling of how the car works and performs but a push button starter is just that. Memory seats are just that. I could go on and on. I don't need to know exactly how a new Hamburger is going to taste because I've had dozens before, it is not going to be an entirely different experience, I know what I'm getting myself into. ;)

While most options are self explanatory, you dont know everything your getting with an option. In the audi platform I owned an a4 and s4 of, some options would change things you wouldnt expect. Like if you got the nav that had the hard drive. The whole cars operating system would run way faster, you would have a better arrangement of nicer looking and better quality buttons and the system would run off a better digital link which would actually make the same upgreaded stereo system sound better.

While that all may sound superfluous, just look at the differences in the dash look of the mft and base models they've shown us. Could be one option that changes the whole look/perhaps feel/perhaps quality of that section of the interior. Especially with option packaging, you never fully know what your getting with an option until you see it in person.

Agreed but their basic FUNCTION does not change. A toggle switch for changing the drive mode doesn't activate the windshield wipers. These options are KNOWN what they do. How they do it is not important for some of us other than they DO what they are designed to do.

If it were some revolutionary, brand new, never seen before in a vehicle option I can see hesitance on wanting to buy it until it is tested, but come on, all these options people know what they do or can read about them. None of it is a epiphany.

Some people need to see it/drive it. Others don't. Is this SO hard to understand? Maybe it is hard for some to understand, I find that sad really.

Drive and love what you want folks. Life is too short. :)

What if.. ford is tightlipped because the nearly 200lbs redux rumor, might be true. What if.. s550 comes in 178lbs lighter, with a 2" lower center of gravity..?

Along side a wider tract & more sophisticated/refined suspension.. it just depend how it handles it's heft. Can't wait to feel the suspension on the track, & start to imagine how I want it.. or, does it have that potential..?

Price is based off the refinement they've done. I expect a slight hike, specially in the cost of the Performance Pack.
