There is a Track Night in America coming up there soon. I'd have to drive 7 hours there and then 7 hours back. Is it worth the trip? I've been to all the "local" tracks except NJMP: Summit Point (all three), Dominion, Pocono, Watkins Glen, VIR.

I actually really enjoyed the roval, they had a couple different ways to set it up. If I had access to it at a reasonable distance I’d do it. The night aspect would be a lot of fun.

I did two days there in '20. You are not going to find the 24 degree banking at many other tracks. You have long straights that allow for higher speeds. I really enjoyed it. Now, would I drive 14 hours total for 3 sessions.....I don't think I would.

Yeah the three session thing is partly what is making me think twice. I'm having trouble finding a two day event hosted by the usual suspects though (Chin, HOD, etc.).

Actually I found an event run by the SVT Cobra Mustang Club. Does anyone have any experience with the SCMC? Their website looks straight from 1998...

yeah the web site is pretty outdated.
tony sorrentino mostly does everything on Facebook.

I’m heading down for the third year in a row for this event with the scmc. 14 hour ride for me from Massachusetts.

I enjoy the Roval, the high banks, flat out Down the back into 3&4, little dogleg on the front, then hard left to the infield.

plus I’ve been to many nascar races here, and know the area well for food and entertainment, so it’s a nice getaway and change of scenery.

Cool! Thanks for the feedback. I don't have Facebook so I only had the website to go on. What size are the run groups generally? Also, is there anything to do there for the wife and kid?

Run groups are beginner, intermediate, advanced, and super advanced- these are the flat out race cars.
I run advanced and can hold my own just fine in the Shelby.

run groups are usually about 30 cars

Other things to do for the family?

that I’m not sure of, other than movies, shopping malls, nascar hall of fame is downtown, most nascar teams have shop tours and gift shops. The Hendrick complex is worth visiting

My friend went last year to the SVT event, he ran his lightning on the track and they had it set up for the 500, 350, all specialty classes.

I hope that helps you with your question. I know CMS puts real effort in keeping the speedway and the roval in good shape for all events.
