Hi Postal Bob, it was 8oz after 1000k miles is not a lot. Ford says that because of the nature of the engine 1 qt every 1k miles is normal and it tells you in the manual to check the oil every fill up of gas. My old engine (gen 1) was consuming 1 quart every 500 miles so Ford replaced my engine with a gen 2 and now the oil consumption is 8oz every 1000 miles, so I am very happy with it. I also have the gt500 valve covers and gt500 oil catch can that drains back into the engine.
