Being serious, no there isn't. But it's just a few hundred dollars for a dealership to flash your car back to stock.

And if you just bought the car, I'd ask the dealership to go ahead and do that as part of the sale.
OK, I don't necessarily disagree with that...but...
If there were a tune and some reason for it wouldn't reverting to a stock tune cause just as many issues?
I mean, if you are reasonably car savvy, you will probably notice things like a CAI, a supercharger and maybe aftermarket exhaust and could reasonably deduce that there's probably a tune. But what about injectors, a different throttle body or locked out cam phasers, stuff that's not readily noticeable? Surely a stock tune with some of these would have drivability issues?

O.k.....so where does this end? The engine could have internal changes. The rear gearing could have been changed.

Sure.

This is faaaar beyond the scope of your original question, or the OP's

Not sure that it has an end. More like damned if you do, damned if you don't.
But it was you who added that element into the conversation by saying to have it flashed back to stock seemingly without regard for it having an aftermarket tune.
My question, while not about finding a previous owner, does seem like a logical extension of if/when you can't find a PO to ask questions of.

If I sold a car, I definitely wouldn't be interested chatting about it with the new owner especially if I didn't directly sell it to them. Sometimes people don't want to sell a car and a circumstance forces their hand. Sometimes people are trying to get rid of problems. It's more often than not a conversation a PO would least likely want to have.
