To shallow the Pirelli Argument:

I drove a Corsa before.
I drove a 1L yaris before that.
I'm 21. I have been drivng since early September 2013.
I've never driven a rear wheel drive car before - at all.

Don't drive like a prat in the rain and the Pirelli's will be fine, you might get to your destination 'Slower' or 'Less fun' with 'less skids' - but you'll be alive with an intact car. I know what i'd choose.

I've had my back end kick out, I somewhat know the limits of the car, therefore wont be doing it again.

I will however be moving from Pzero's to MPSS when the PZ's give up the ghost!

In short, with all Mods, changes etc, take peoples opinions as opinions - not as facts. It's their choice, do as you wish, it is your car and your money!

Sure but as an independent observer I thought Enoch was completely over the top about the advice given by Gibbo.

In other words, Gibbo may know what he's talking about (or at least sounds like he does) but I'm going to completely disregard any facts because I don't like them. :clap2:
Sorry...But this needs a reply...

I've read with interest all of Gibbos threads regarding suspension, and handling upgrades.... I've Pm'd him for advice on some of my proposed upgrades....I happily used his alignment settings on my own car.....I've bought parts from him.

I've copied some of what he's done, and I've gone in my own direction on other stuff....

My comment about his opinion meaning nothing to me was said in the heat of the moment, and I'm a big enough man to apologies for that.

Gibbo has strong opinions on lots of stuff......they may or may not be shared by everyone.
I do not share his opinion on the tyres

I will happily buy him a pint if we get together at a meet.......... Just before I thrash his arse with my superior handling car:paddle:

As I have written previously on other treads...

I am a novice high horse power rear wheel drive Mustang GT auto owner. I took delivery in early December 2015 which was about the worst time possible for cold and wet weather conditions and obviously I wanted to enjoy my new purchase.

My Mustang was delivered with P Zeros and at that time I did experience some back end twitch and instability moments such as at low speed getting across roundabouts in the wet in traffic and also fishtailing when accelerating from standstill although nothing too serious.

In March 2016 after less than 4 months of ownership and just 2600 miles I changed to MPSS at an Asda Price Total £696.02 and even though there has been plenty of cold and wet driving since then I have not had one single back end twitch and I am now at 9000 miles I have not had one single rear end incident and the car just feels better on the road and to me that means that it feels safer.

I'm not about to make performance mods to my Mustang but for me changed the tyres to MPSS was the best and most cost effective mod I could make.

I picked up my car in Feb. when it was "still quite cold", and in my opinion the P zero's are "not very good in the cold" to be polite. I also had some "interesting episodes" - fortunately didn't hit anything.

When the temps are warmer, they have been fine for me, even in monsoon conditions - and as they are advertised as "summer tyres" and "not recommended for under 7 degrees C /40F" then this is pretty much what I expected.

I still plan to drop MPSS on all 4 wheels in the autumn, I expect I will be coming up to 10K miles by then so it shouldn't work out too expensive as I won't be replacing "still new" tyres.

It is a separate question what Ford were thinking fitting such "specific" summer tyres onto a car being delivered in winter! But I guess as the MPSS are also "summer tyres" they might be just as bad in winter... I will see.

I think Ford think if it's ok for the US and Canada who have a lot worse weather than us, than should be fine for the UK as our weather is pretty mild compared to them. But it still puzzles me why Only on the CS have they put A/S tires, not even on the PP cars in the US, just don't make sense. And also the Americans are not moaning about the tires or the Underseal not being done, so maybe that's why the Euro cars just got a quick shot of underseal

Was that for 4 tyres and did it include fitting? Asda for me is giving a price of £811.46? Costco are £811.12.

Picked up car on Saturday; fitted rear MPSS on Thursday after. £425 ish from Asda, fitted.
Had these tyres on my XK8 & made a world of difference so despite not having any issues/dramas with the p-zeros.... I changed them as soon as I could.
Still got fronts on p-zeros and will change them to MPSS when they need changing.

Everyones choice & personal preference. Had rear wheel drive powerful cars for years so know how to drive them but quite frankly I would prefer to spend my hard earned on a tyre that I know and trust first, rather than an exhaust that isn't technically needed (for example).

Just my opinion. Doesn't mean that I'm right. Doesn't mean that I'm wrong. What it does mean is that I have two stonking great big tyres in my garage with 100 miles on them doing nothing but taking up space

I changed to MPSS at an Asda Price Total £696.02. That was the all in tyre and fitting price that I paid in March. Maybe the demand to change tyres on Mustangs has affected the price.
