Hood scoop water problem

The only concern I can think of that might cause an issue would be if the engine was REALLY hot and you get hit by a cold down pour that makes direct contact with the engine block. I'd have to see exactly where the pits are and what is under them. Water won't really get into your engine from a little moisture around the intake, that's what the filter is for.

He isn't concerned about the engine, he's concerned about an open element CAI air filter.





OP, the Mustang has had these same scoops since the 2013 model and while people have brought up the concern then it wasn't that big a deal. I say don't worry about it.

The engine is not my concern it going to get wet when it rains, my concern is with the open box cai and the conical filter getting wet and ruin and or may be water getting in the intake, but may by that is harder for it to happen. Because the hood scoop is on top of the intake box stock is close so there's no problem there but when you switch to an cai and the air box is open and the filter exposed that's my concern.
