So I haven't heard this talked about much but it really bothers me. I have driven 6 ecoboost mustangs and they all suffered from the same hood alignment flaw (spend a lot of time in rental cars and own a 2016). If you stand in front of the car and view the top of the front fascia (where it meets the hood) you will notice that the front edge of the hood (Center crease) sits slightly lower than the front fascia rather than being even. The result is a gap that starts off uniform at the outer edges then pinches towards the middle. I have also rented the V6 and compared it to the ecoboost side by side. The V6 does not suffer from the alignment issue nor does the GT.
I recently installed the Roush front fascia on my personal ecoboost mustang and the alignment issue was still present. It bugs the he'll out of me! I tried making adjustments to the hood latch height but there is no way to raise the center of the hood without raising the outboard corners.
The only way I can think to remedy this is to remove some material from the plastic support structure that the fascia mounts to.
Has anyone attacked this yet?
Below are some stock photos demonstrating the issue. The last photo is my car with the Roush fascia installed.
