I live in a state where the best fuel we can get is 92 octane, with next to no e85 availability - yay Washington! This makes both e85 and e30 a no-go. I'm still relatively low miles, so I'm not yet ready to install a meth kit

Curious if anyone else in the same position uses something like race gas?

If so, what octane do you mix? If not, do you use other additives to raise octane?

Cheers

I feel your pain (I'm in Snohomish). You would think with all the refineries we have here we could get some better gas.
  • BP Cherry Point in Blaine.
  • Phillips 66 in Ferndale.
  • Shell Oil in Anacortes.
  • Tesoro in Anacortes.
  • U.S. Oil in Tacoma.

Ooofff.. the only realistic one of those for me is Tacoma, as I am in Kent, and that is a 30 mins drive each way which kind of kills it

I guess i could fill up a large can and keep it in my garage, then mix e30, though that is a huge hassle

I have been running a RGA Boostane since I had 5k miles on the car.
I have a total of 16K now. I got the professional at first since it was cheaper. But, I got tired of trying to mix it. I just buy the Premium and add to each fill up. I am also running a 100 Octane tune.
Just a note, I have been replaceing my spark plugs every 5K miles while using this RGA just to be safe. Long story.
Why did I choose boostane? just typed in octane booster on Amazon and just picked one.

Good Luck.

interesting. looks like i could go from 92 to 96 or 97 pretty easily. Beyond that the amount of boostane needed goes up pretty substantially

did you notice a big difference going from the 93 to 100 tune?

I could feel an increase. I did not take the car to the dyno to see the numbers. I had the car on the dyno at the cobb tuning in plano, tx with the 93 tune and before other upgrades. I think it was at 267 whp or something close to that.

Of course, I choose the RGA over the E30 tune or Meth. Just take some time and do your research to see what is best for you. My tuner prefered the Meth or E30 over the RGA.
