I think if you remove the weather stripping and cut out some plastic on the back of the hood area. The pieces closest to the bottom of the front windshield under the raised section. It could act as a functional cowl style hood. Be nice if someone made a kit for this that replaces the stock ones so you don't have to damage yours. Make it in carbon fiber would look nice. Make it in 2 parts, delete the middle part shown in the picture.
you might want to look into how a cowl actually works. it would create more positive pressure under the hood from the air coming in off of the windshield.

Good thought. I wouldn't want to cut up my stock pieces but might consider an aftermarket one if it worked. I wonder if the gt350 hood would fit the lesser model bumpers.
I would much rather have a carbon fiber GT350 style hood. It looks lower profile for better visibility. I'm surprised none have been produced yet.

True, but the design of the new S550 Mustang is far more slippery than the S197 Mustang.

This is bad ass! I definitely prefer the look of this grill over the grill delete kit for sure. I'd love to have this when it becomes available.

If you want. Send me a set up. I'll fit it and see what's what. I'll pay full price. Take pictures and send them back. Yours is the only one I like. The mesh thing just looks cheap imo. The delete looks like it's just missing something, duh. Yours looks spot on.

I just thought I'd offer.

Thanks

RIP is makeing a grill with a mesh screen. A little more street orientated with stainless mesh . http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=5130

I can do the grills exchanged like they do. Not to sure about that stainless mess, but that's why there are different grills for different people. I would not say it is any more street oriented then our Hex mesh, just a different shape. Imo the hex mesh is more Mustang then squares. Thanks for the link. That affirms my price point.

Being that there is normally positive pressure at the cowl/windshield junction, it might not vent like you'd like. You could always just get a GT hood, or an aftermarket vented hood.

It only confirms your price point if they can sell them for that. :D

Theirs is just stainless mesh that you can buy yourself and make it. Yours is more OEM looking and looks better. That's just my opinion though.

Any updates? I just found this and was about to pull the trigger on the RPI mesh, but I like this 100000 times better!

I am doing one RPI style using a factory grill right now for another member. If you are interested I can do another.
