Help with width please.....

The weather is turning nasty so I think I may take my enclosed trailer to pick up my car. It's about six hours each way. I have 82" between my wheel wells. Wikipedia shows a 75.4 inch width. Would someone mind eyeballing a tape measure at the widest body work on the car ? Obviously I don't care about the mirrors, but say the fender wells are approx. 14" tall. So widest part of the car between the ground and 14" high. It would really help me out, thanks.

I just went out with a tape measure on my ecoboost and the width is 77" at the widest part of the rear wheel well (not exact but best guesstimate and not including mirrors as you said). I'm assuming the width is the same with the GT.

Yep. I checked mine with a tape measure, and 77" on the GT is pretty close. Maybe a little less.

Yep. I checked mine with a tape measure, and 77" on the GT is pretty close. Maybe a little less.

BUt the dimension you are more interested in is where the wheel wells at a 14" ht. would encounter. So what distance is the back of your wheel well to the front of where your car would be. Meaning, if you drive in nose first, will the backof your trailers's wheel wells be enough forward of the '77" ' dimension they are seeing at the car's widest point?

'Maybe' you get a little extra space if your trailer allows the maximum 77" width to be behind your trailers wheel wells.

It should, it's a 27' v-nose with 22' box. As long as there is enough tongue weight, I may be able to keep the rear tires behind the fender wells.
