I would stay clear of anything Chrysler because they are all giant pieces of s#@&. Sucks because I love the Challenger and its looks, but I would never buy it because of it being a Chrysler and their terrible QC.
Please, what a crock. They dont have any more issues then the others including ford. All my diesel fords with the exception of my 7.3's have had all kinds of boneheaded engineering issues. The motors have always been the issue. That being said I also have an 06 srt magnum with 42k miles I just had to change the gas tank. That was some qc issues for sure, still love the car though.

My next car will probably be a 392 Challenger T/A, with the price increase ifor 2018 I can actually get a fully optioned 392 T/A a little cheaper than a 5.0.

What problems have you had with your car?
Looks like I needn't answer, he did for me. I'm only short the tranny going out *knock on wood*

But yet we are OK with clutches that fail miserably and Ford admittedly changed up to a dual disc because it needs it, thin paint that pops off when a bug hits it, AC evap coils that constantly fail, back up cameras that quit working, door handles that have been recalled and took months for replacements, body panels and rear glass out of alignment, cooled seats that half-ass work (pun intended) B-B-Q ticking sounds that cannot be explained, notchy shifting manual transmissions that might smooth out some if you drop $100 into a fluid swap, a shifter that feels like a coat hanger in a stew pot, and some cars with built in vibrators that would make a porn star happy.

So why is the Challenger a POS? :ford: yea, these **********s are number 1!

Please excuse my rant. It was a hot MF'en drive home with my AC out. :frusty: and the dealership cannot take my car until a week from today.
If I had found a 392 R/T stick when I was shopping, I would have a Challenger. the 15+ Challenger interior is 10x a better place to be than the Mustang, and you'll actually get cold from it's AC. I had only been able to find a stick regular R/T, and doing a pull in the GT over that, basically won me over. And if nothing else, the S550 is one of the best looking cars you can get today, and although I put the Challenger up there in looks, it has been out a very long time.

If I could do it again, I might even go R/T if I had to.

Go with the one you think looks best and make sure to test drive a demo or used one for a half day or so.
I would still like to get a GT350R but my custom house project was going up in cost quick. So its going to be a few years LOL.

OP, you should buy both cars - Mustang GT and a Challenger 392. Both are great cars for slightly different reasons. My Challenger Scat Pack weighs 500 lbs more than my Mustang GT (weighed on the same local truck scales), yet handles & stops better than my standard suspension GT. Challenger is bigger & roomier. Mustang is way easier/cheaper to mod.

Almost 50k on my car and not a single issue of significance (or that wasn't caused by me).

For the public interest I have edited this useful post so it can be used on the internet in a wide variety of circumstances.
Yet there's plenty of proof on the Internet how bad FIAT\Chrysler really is. There's really no defending it.
