So only a few days after posting on here saying my 18’ GT has no issues....it has issues. Go figure. 10,200 miles on her. Got in my car after dinner tonight, shifted into reverse no problem, put it in Drive and it didn’t engage right away. Took a few seconds and it violently shifted into Drive and I got the dreaded wrench light with “see manual”...and the SES light. Drove slowly a bit and it’s definitely not shifting correctly. It’s in D, and it’s rev matching some gears like it’s in S+ mode. The shift from 1 to 2 isn’t normal...it’s holding until 3k rpm or so before it shifts under slow acceleration. Got home, only a 5 min ride away...and put it in park. Then shifted back into D and it didn’t engage immediately again....maybe 5 seconds went by and it threw itself into drive so roughly it felt like a minor traffic collision. This is all just fantastic, since these 18’s have had zero trans issues right? Lol. Any advice or thoughts on what this may be would be appreciated. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning first thing. Thanks in advance

Outside temp was around 46f. Trans oil temp was 197. Oil temp was normal. Everything motor wise seems ‘Okay’. For now

Quick update. Got in the car this morning. Wrench light is gone. Check engine light is still there, but trans is shifting normally again. Still taking it in, but what the hell?

It should have stored codes so the dealer can pull them. Curious to hear what it is.

Definitely have to bring it in and find out what happened. Dealership will be able to look at the codes and see what is going on.

Hoping that’s all it is. Just dropped it off at Ford. Leaving it for the day. He’s going to scan it and see what codes were thrown and call me. A reflash would be best case scenario

I've seen reports on here that the fluid can be low from the factory...so maybe that although you would think it would have done something many miles ago.

Just got a call from Ford. He said the trans is definitely ‘slipping’ and they will have to ‘get into the transmission’. Which of course means Monday or tuesday. He’s getting me a loaner though which is a plus. Great way to start a Friday. I’ll keep y’all updated. Thanks for the replies everyone

Another update. I now have a 2018 Ford Edge SUV indefinitely until my car is properly diagnosed and repaired. I’ll be registering it with Uber tomorrow, and starting rides in the Columbia SC area ASAP. Lol. No idea what they’ll say when it’s fully diagnosed Monday or Tuesday.

So here’s another update. Cars been at Ford since Friday. Service guy called me today and said the problem absolutely isn’t electrical. It’s mechanical. So they are pulling the trans from the car and taking it apart to see what it may be. Any advice, thoughts on all of this?

Well they say it’s mechanical. Maybe I have the misfortune to have the first A10 on this forum that actually broke. There is something disheartening about them dropping the trans on an 18’. And I’ve never even tracked/taken it to the strip.
