Made me think - can we get spacesaver spare tyres?
Sponsored
Yea thats what i would have thought, but the guy at ford talked about a patch, which may come off when the inside of the tyre gets hot apparently. Im going to keep the tyre and get it repaired properly, not at ford obviously. As it happens The dealership was my most convenient solution. P.s the gunk can be cleared before repair.Kristian..... A repair doesn't compromise the tyre.....
ive spoken to loads of really good tyre fitters, (and they'd love to sell you a new tyre) but they say that a tyre, repaired to the proper standards by someone that knows what they're doing, is as safe as a new tyre..
They've been on courses, and there are proper standards that have to be met...
They will not repair any tyre if there is a chance of failure....
Your money your choice, but I'd be off to a reputable tyre place![]()
Also need a wheel for the tyre so NO - not for the GTMade me think - can we get spacesaver spare tyres?
Sorry, I meant spacesaver spare wheel. Why not for GT ? Different widths, yes but space savers are only meant as get you home and are never the same with as STD wheels anyhowAlso need a wheel for the tyre so NO - not for the GT
I have also thought about this once or twice...Also made me think about our road trip to scotland.
Is that a full size front wheel in the boot?I've got a spare front wheel in my boot, the cover is a bit high.
I haven't had to use it yet and I'm guessing it would go on the rear just to get me out of trouble
Be careful using a front wheel on the back (on a GT)..... The offset is different, but also, the tyre size is different, as in width and circumference....I've got a spare front wheel in my boot, the cover is a bit high.
