After washing my car today I have no idea how my th3 front wheel on my performance pack gt got chipped. Do you guys think it is possible the guide rails on a touch less car wash chipped it?

Ouch! That's pretty deep.....probably gonna need re-finished; One of the rear wheels on our car got curbed and i bought one of those touch-up paint pens from Wal-Mart, can't even tell now unless you stick your eyeball on it, but yours looks far worse.

I may just buy another wheel at some point. It appears to be the finish only. The carwash is the only thing I can think of.

Your best off taking a tiny file or small sandpaper, and getting rid of all of the tiny and rough edges, clean the aluminum good and make sure the edges of paint around it are free of little rough spots. Mix gloss black paint and clearcoat, patch up the area and let it try, be very careful/not paint heavy you want it to be as thin as possible, when its dried after a full night then look up on YouTube for wet sanding tutorials, use a fine grit sandpaper and wet sand it level and blend it, afterwards compound and polish, if you do it right it'll be pretty good

I'm skeptical of the paint coating on these wheels. My PP wheel chipped on the face while washing it with A GARDEN HOSE AND MICROFIBER! Still waiting on the dealer to hear back from Ford about a warranty claim. My instance was pretty ridiculous.

Thanks for all the help. I may try touchup paint to tide me over till i get a deal on a wheel. Are the wheels powder coated from the factory?

I've chipped the finish on my wheels worse than that so far; had a guy in a parking lot over the weekend come up and ask a lot of questions admiring it, and then he bent down and noticed all the curb rash on my rear wheels. That's what happens parallel parking; no big deal.

Bumping an old thread here.

Curbed the s**t out of my passenger rear wheel today. Can't imagine this is something covered under warranty. May be hard to tell in the picture, but do you guys think this is something to have a body shop repaint or would you just buy a new wheel? Levittown has them for $316 and I know there is a code for a forum discount. Are they OEM, just like the wheels on my car?

Thinking I'll probably just buy one from Levittown and not worry about having this one fixed. I've been focused on trying to keep every original part on this car, but I suppose not everything can be perfect. Probably gonna buy some aftermarket wheels and tires soon, but I'd like to keep these wheels for a winter set-up. Have <2500 miles on the car.
