Was cold this morning and after I got in my car the vehicle said the car door was still open. There was some ice on the bottom so tried to clear that way. No luck. I played with the lock and I think it is stuck in the lock position now and won't come down. Help

try disconnecting the battery or use the key in the fob to manually unlock it

I can hear the mechanism work when using the fob or the lock on the door it's just the latch is stuck up. Was supposed to get my spring s done today wonder if I should just hold the door till I get to their shop

Try heat up the lock with hair dryer. Did you wash the car the day before and it froze over night?

Ok I held the handle open and then took a screw driver to bring the latch back to place. Seems to be good now. Sprayed some wd40 hopefully that helps too

DONT use WD40 for anything as a lubricant !!!!!!! Go to a part store and get a lithium grease or a graphite based lubricant!! WD40 will gum up in cold and give you the same if not worse issues than you already have.

FYI you will prob need to get a spray can of cleaner to get the WD40 cleaned out. Any sort of carb cleaner or such. It will make a mess,,,,,, sorry

I would not spray WD40 because it smells bad.

Don't use carb cleaner it will damage plastic. Use simple green.

Don't use carb cleaner unless you want damaged paint and plastic parts.
