Hello; Saw the article links below today. Brought to mind something I have wondered about for some time. The first emissions rules started around 1968 in the USA. There have been spells of time when a car had to pass inspections. Part of the rules were the smog equipment the year the car was sold had to be in place. Then some of those rules went away in some states.
I have tended to look to vehicles built before 1969 when it comes to doing a major modification. The thinking being with no smog/emission requirements as sold they can be modified without breaking the rules. I saw not too long ago a plan to limit some of the sort of tunes and/or modifications currently being done. Things such as removing the "CATS" for example.
Any thoughts on where this sort of thing will go?
