Those are the exact same ones I ordered. Def much brighter and it’s not the placebo effect either, but bear in mind I went from 6000k lamps so in theory these will put out more lumens.

Now the darker nights are drawing in it is def more noticeable in terms of light out put and it’s not because they are whiter either.

I haven’t raised mine yet it’s on the to do list !

Worst case scenario you’ll have wasted £25 and have a few cuts on your hands !

Let me know how you get on
Hey AM,

How on earth did you change these? I can get my hand through the gap in the panel and remove the dust cover but cant see how to release the bukb from the light! So far only succeeded in shredding my wrists! Guess I will have to go via the wheel but still unsure what is holding the bulbs in

You’ll need to do a combination of hands in through the top and through the wheel arch.
It’s a lot easier if you jack the car up to save bending over excessively.

I stuffed old microfibre cloths in the hole too to save my hands from the sharp metal edges and screws points !

It’s a pig but when you get the knack it’s a 10min job.

undoing and particularly redoing the headlight retaining clip was the biggest PITA for me ! But again when you’ve got the knack it’s relatively easy.

Ps on the headlight retaining clip, you’ll need to pitch the clip underneath the lamp and push it back towards the headlight housing to release the bulb. It takes a bit of wiggling to unlatch and relatch the clip. Make sure you get the lamp seated correctly and both slides of the u clip latched properly or the lamp angle will be incorrect.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice. I dropped the arch liner out of the way and could only just get my finger on the retaining clip to te left of the bulb, i was able to push it but unable to get it off. Couldn't get near the clip on the right side if there is one! May give in and ask ford to do it when it's in the garage week after next.

Its not a placebo effect. Lower colour temperatures yield more contrast with objects on the road so effectively appear brighter...

Thats why u cant go by measured lux values.

The oem bulbs on my 2016 are osram 66340hbi which aren't available for purchase to individuals. I installed osram 66340 cbi bulbs which are rated as 20% higher lux output. I can confirm the new lights are no where near as good as the stockers 5000k and higher doesnt have great contrast and washes out in practice.

When its pitch black or night 5000k is ok... But in low light dusk conditions its like u dont even have headlights...

If visibility is what u care about stay in the 4000k range...

Ah that's awesome pal, bet I'm not though, I'm in Chester
You’re right I’m not ! I’m north of Worcester !

I’ve found this video clip, 2mins in you can see how the bulb retaining clips come undone hopefully this will help clarify how to do this, as I said it has to be done a certain way but once it’s you’ve got it sussed it’s relatively easy
