Hi guys,

Planning a trip to the continent in the summer. Does anyone of you know who makes headlamp beam adaptors (i.e.the stickers you put on your headlamps to avoid blinding people ;)) for our Mustangs?

Cheers

Our friends come over from France and they don't bother so I wasn't going to when I go over there next month.

From experience, blasting down the Autobahn in the middle of the night with your headlamps pointing the wrong way, isn't much appreciated :p

Depends how much nighttime driving your planning to do. I'll probably have to do some rural driving at night and seeing how these stickers are normally only a few quid, I'd rather put them on. If I can find some that is...

To be fair your right, but I've done all that before, breath test kits, hi vi vests, spare bulb kit etc etc.
It's all a bit of a con, I will try and get there before it gets dark
believe me foreign drivers don't bother when there over here.
Isn't there a universal kit you can buy that you do against a garage door.

Couldn't find any that list our cars - If I recall, normally there's instructions inside that show you exactly where to place the stickers

Correction. Think you can use most of these even if the specific car model isn't listed

The Scorpio I used to have had brilliant little levers in the headlamps that allowed you to drive on the "wrong" side of the road without those ugly stickers. They were buggers to get to, unless you had fingers like a Japanese pianist, but otherwise brilliant. Shame they don't go for this anymore.

Quite literally, seen some of their driving standards ! I had a Romanian plate Punto infront of me today... sat between both fking lanes.... :frusty:

To be honest, if a policeman was to pull you over and be like 'TOM, YOU NEED TO HAVE THESE STICKERS' and you said 'Yeah I didn't know, sorry' he can't do eff about it... can they?

Can't see anyone pulling you over for not having the stickers. It's more about being considered than anything else, imo (especially if you have fairly potent headlamps like ours)

Kuga and focus etc, have it inbuilt electronically from the dash menus, guess they think USA mustangs will ever see a RHD road

On the S197 it was not needed, but as this is a UK car might be different

You might not need them with xenon headlights. My X5 didn't need them as the sharp cut off on dip never got high enough to reach oncoming drivers' eyeline although it did shine into their side of the road in France.

The French wouldn't take that as an excuse, on the spot fine
