Just whack them on anywhere & plead innocence... or ignorance. Either way doubt you'd be done. Slap on the wrist?

Years ago my friends and I were pulled for crossing the double white line in France. It wasn't actually there. It just used to be - had worn away - presumably with the locals just driving over it too.

Anyway, we remonstrated, pleaded innocence and then ignorance. The third option, the slap on the wrist, involved them taking all our passports, revealing their guns and then demanding money on the spot with no receipt.

Naturally, we paid and then and left under a cloud of expletives. Youthful exuberance eh.

I suspect it's all history now what with Europe being all close and cuddly now. They will probably have some spare stickers they'll let you have for free. Might even get your gill DRLs working too :)

These days, they march you to the nearest cash point and supervise you withdrawing money, then take your licence off of you and tell you to apply for it back, oh and don't be caught driving anywhere in France without a licence.

Just drive during the day, on many a Le Mans trip, I've yet to see anyone use the said stickers.

French cops are ruthless, don't fuck with them, you could soon find yourself pleading for them not to crush your car, as they escalate your misdemeanour into a state, capital offence, enjoy France :D
