Hey all, own a 2015 RS2 with X pipe and roush axlebacks. NO HEADERS. Has the Phase 2 supercharger kit and boost-a-pump. Custom tuned by VMP.

Seems the glaring issues are headers and injectors.

Which would you think should be upgraded first? If I upgrade injectors first and increase boost etc will the stock headers and cats be too significant of a restriction, and in so doing need to be upgraded first?

Always error on fuel first. I would start there, and make sure you are looking long term for fuel (as much as reasonable)

Personally I would go headers then injectors. Headers will be a nice upgrade epecially FI and you won’t need to get retuned(may have to turn off rear o2’s but shouldn’t have to pay). If you go injectors you may have to pay for a whole new tune since the injector flow data is different. Once you have your headers installed you can tackle the fuel system. Ive seen gains of like 30-40whp going catless longtubes on a sc car.

Injectors are really meant to be able to support higher HP levels not as a performance mod. With that said I'd personally recommend headers unless VMP feels that the power the headers will add will require a larger injector. If they feel the injectors you're running will be enough to support the added power of the headers just go with the headers. If they feel you need injectors to support the added power from the headers you'll need to do both.

Always check with your tuner first.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

Thanks!

If you have stock injectors, I would go injectors. If you like where you are with the power it's making now and don't plan on it going for more, headers. You'll get more power out of them, obviously you'll need a tune to get more out of the injectors. Injectors are for head room. You don't want to get in a situation where you're going up and now you got to spend more on injectors because you're at the edge.

Headers and a good way to increase power without a tune

Since you have a Roush already tuned by VMP and have a BAP maybe you can see if they'll give you a deal on their upgrade package. That way you get your injectors, but also pulley, tb and updated tune.

Can you link me to their upgrade package?

Sure thing. Can see it here, then go to the details to see what the package includes:
https://www.vmpperformance.com/2015-Roush-767-HP-Upgrade-Package

I would see if they'd work with you on it if interested.
I'm not sure I see huge value though unless they massive decrease price. I think the bump I'd get from my recent purchase of headers with the VMP tune will make up the 40 hp difference between the Phase 2 kit (727) and this VMP 767 kit. I guess I could add another 40 hp with the pulley and TB + injectors but honestly my goals is a car (2015 manual PP RS2) that can run at least high 10s on sticky street tires and I think I might be there after the headers go on. Was under the impression 650ish at the wheels with a good run would get me there.
