After installing mine myself i'll tell you this .. If you pulled up to my shop and asked for a price I would hand you 5 bucks and tell you to go away ...

After installing mine myself, I would drive to anyone in My area who needs them installed and do them in their driveway/garage for $250...easy, just takes time and patience

I have a shop that might do it for free, but if not myself and a buddy would be down to get them installed. I wouldn't mind $300 each install, don't know if that's a little more tempting.

It's crazy how much prices vary. I would be ecstatic to pay $500 for a quality install.

It depends on the area. Some places people live like kings on $35K a year. In others people need $65K plus. Anyone paying $400 is doing so in a cheap cost of living area, using a low end shop, or caught someone who does not know what they are getting into.
