Has anyone removed the hoodliner

Has anyone removed the hoodliner? Is that a good or bad idea on the S550? Some have said it can get wet from the hoodscoops allowing some water in. I did this on my Contour SVT years ago with no ill effects.

It's a bit fugly I agree, but I'm leaving mine in there for safety. I sometimes have my son in the backseat, and if that hoodliner/fireblanket buys me a few extra seconds to make sure he gets out of the car unscathed then I can deal with it. After seeing this (which I know is an isolated incident):

That hoodliner ain't going nowhere.

I took mine off tonight. Looks great. Sounds the same.

Just took mine off when I replaced the hood vents, haven't put it back.
