Has anyone gotten this shift knob (or anything) from Auto Fanatic?

You better have a few cans of Sonax handy if you get this gadget.
You're gonna need it.

This company seems to only have products on a few cars. I am interested in their OEM replacement knob in alcantera, but wanted to see if anyone had one or any experience with the company.

I haven’t purchased this item specifically but have ordered other items with no issues. The guy who owns Auto-fanatic has a great instagram page you should check out and has always been responsive to any questions

The only reason I wasn't too worried about that is because I've had a few cars with suede shifters before and never had any issues. Granted, I try not to be a slob and the car is not a daily.

I've had the Auto-Fanatic alcantara shift knob for about two years. Great quality and no issues with the alcantara if you know how to take care of it. The fear of alcantara is comical to me.

Indeed. People blame the material, but it’s 100% the user.

There’s alcantara and then there’s alcantara. True alcantara comes from Italy and is very plush and very expensive. I believe AF deals in the “real stuff”.

Exactly. This is why I always wipe my hands on the seat and my pants before I touch the steering wheel while eating Cheesy Poofs. Helps keep the Alcantatarnara pristine.

Thank you for the input! I agree about the fear mongering

How else do you expect me to manage eating Popeyes while driving?

I believe you are correct. If you watch his videos, he mentions it a few times.

No problem! I love it. You won't be disappointed.

A couple of years ago I bought a matte carbon fiber dash from ebay for about $850, which I believe is cheaper than you can find a core for. I wanted to keep my original dash untouched. The matte carbon is decent but I am thinking about sending it to AF to cover it in alcantara. I have to email him to see if he's willing to use it as a core.

Well, to my surprise, the knob came within a week of ordering! The website still says there may be a long lead-time, but not in my case! I will be getting the car from storage this week or so, but for now, enjoy these low quality pics of the knob!

The quality seems top notch. The one seam is straight and narrow. The alcantera is high quality and looks like an OEM knob.
