My local dealer had a couple. I got out of my Mustang to look at it. Sales lady came out and asked if I wanted to test drive it. I said no thanks. lol
You missed out on a good opportunity - our dealer lent us a Premium Mach-e for a week and absolutely loved it. It is a terrific car - and the GT will only be better.

Maybe I'm a dying breed or a dinosaur that should be extinct, but I didn't buy a mustang for good gas mileage or practicality. I bought it because of what it used to represent, power, speed, excitement. When I drive through my neighborhood kids want me to rev my engine. When I go the gas station (often) people come up to me tell about when they had a mustang or their father had a mustang. I go to car shows and have won trophies before. That's why I love my Mustang. I'm sorry, you can slap a mustang logo on that practical good gas mileage electric SUV, but to me it will never be a real Mustang.

In addition to liking my Mustang I like Ford SUVs too (My Ford Edge Sport is sweet). Personally: I like the look of the Mach-E and all the reviews are great. Something like it might replace my Edge when I’m done with it.

BUT: as has been said a thousand times: they did NOT need to put a Mustang badge on it. It’s just a ridiculously stupid thing to do.

It's not Ford's intention to replace 'the Mustang' with the Mach E, the ICE Mustang sits alongside the E and Ford have no benefit with discontinuing the ICE car and its future development. The name is just a name in that sense.

Surely, new buyers, owners and attention to the Ford brand will give more funds to Engineering for future vehicle improvements. With all the Chevvy talk of discontinuing Camaro etc.. that's not a direction I would like to see the Mustang brand go.

Amazing how just one - arguably minor - mis-step that doesn't affect this vehicle's usefulness or functionality can do so much damage to its overall perception in the eyes of those who are fans of the car it's trying to steal the name away from.

Same here.

But I don't mind a bit that the ponycar Mustang's performance comes with a modicum of practicality for just the two of us, or that gas mileage in normal driving is at least reasonable. Hell, the 6 or 7 mpg I get on the track with the skinny pedal floored most of the time is better than some cars used to be able to get on the street.

I mean, have you seen the new Corvette convertible :giggle:

gmc-hummer-ev-in-colors.jpg
So I take it that if it "humms" it's gotta be an EV as well?

I guess if you hammered a Corvette hard enough on both ends, that'd make it taller and boxier . . .

... I thought Mik was referring to a chevy corvette hummer too, not the notable take away of years of branding
