buddy of mine got to take home a stingray for a week. He asked if I wanted to meet up and check it out... this also give him the chance to look at my mustang. the vette was a 2014 and had about 6k miles on it. the interior layout was superb! you could hardly hear the vette at idle but when you stepped on it it was loud! I was a little worried about taking it out.
getting back into my mustang.. you could really tell these cars are in two different classes, mostly fit and finish. I was not blown away by the power but it was fast.

I love the Stingray however, I read the C7 forum from time to time and it seems they have a lot of maintenance problems. I usually only hear people complain about the stupid cooled seats on a Mustang. The Stingrays seem to be in the shop for a lot of repairs.

i did notice that the cooled seats in the vette were almost instant... much quicker than the mustang for sure.

Both cars look really nice.

Did the corvette feel a class up in fit in finish?

Yes, class up. 30k extra, guess it should.
I considered a C7 before I chose the Mustang, and I have to say, I didn't think it looked or felt a class up on materials/fit and finish-especially for the price difference. Part of the reason I went with the GT and kept the difference. But you know, opinions. :) They're nice cars, for sure, though. Perhaps if you get the full leather interior with the carbon fiber dash insert, it would help it feel worth the $20,000+ price difference.

I rode in a friend's C6 Z06 the other day, and I was shocked by how quiet it was, even with the exhaust fully open. Granted, I have a Borla S-type catback and the Vette was stock, but I was still surprised by how quiet it was.

The C7 Corvette is a terrifyingly good car tragically hamstrung by severe design flaws with its cooling systems, but in the case of the 'Vette it's the ENGINE cooling systems. :tsk: Hopefully it'll be improved in a later model year, ideally by the 2017s.
