I am a firm believer that the media gets preproduction versions of the cars. They always seem to do a lot better.

A good point, this is a little bit off topic but I am a gaming computer nerd and companies do this all the time when it comes to computer components, especially graphic cards. The only benchmarks I consider valid are the ones where someone goes to a store and buys that product off a shelf. Anything else and its highly likely a non-production promotion given out with the intent to inflate numbers for a review.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the auto industry doing the same thing.

FS is a Street Class, 100% Stock (I'm sure some cheating happens).

Maybe they should let the z28 in FS, it sure seems like they need it.

Its the driver man always been the driver! Its not how you stand by your car,its how you race your car! I really don't think Randy Pobst cheated while testing the 1le, he even drove the lexus rcf, m4 and mustang twice and the results were not that different! We gotta accept that the previous 1le is a better track car than the current mustang and move on! Let Ford figure this out! They are coming with the 350r setup and they will adapt a similar setup for a gt in the upcoming years just like chevy did!

No, we need to accept that magazine results are more than likely skewed. This is not twisting an agenda, this is REAL LIFE and not anything new.


The 1LE sucked in 2012, it sucked in '13, '14 and this season.


Lets go back and worship a single article but ignore 4 seasons of sh!t effort.

This is FS, it is 100 percent stock. This is your hero car and it isn't worth a sh!t... Resorting to a magazine when this is the real results, time and time again.

Accept it, you have been misled. I understand the magazines said otherwise. The real test for these cars is in racing. In the real world, the '15 GT isn't 2 seconds slower than a 1LE. It hammers it's ass just as the previous GT did IN REAL LIFE.

Who would win in a fight? Superman or Batman?

Because that is what it sounds like when lame-O's start singing magazine stats.

Question: Where is the 1LE's sterling reputation coming from? Is it actual racing? Amateur or Pro? Class or Solo? Or is it because it tested faster in a handful of magazine test initially?

Really? It is given an imaginary crown to wear while the GT actually pounds it in the a$$ for 4 years? That sounds like special treatment... Now the Ecoboost wants to get a squirt in!!

These GT drivers aren't even comfortable with the car yet. Are you f@$%in' kidding me? I'm sorry, on average, the 1LE does very poorly at these types of events as well as class racing.

A good car assist the driver. This is some of those 2015's first runs EVER!!!!

You are really not comparing these cars in a event set on a empty super walmart parking lot and cones right? Think about it man, you can't even use the gt or 1le to the even their half potential in a race like that! Ofcourse the ecoboost is going to win cause its lighter and you dont need that much hp and torque! I bet if you put a wrx sti in there it will smoke all cars! Come on man, the streets of willow is a 1.7 mile real race track with straights twists and all! Even if you put a lamborghini hurricane in a autocross like that and if it beats a ecoboost with 3 seconds are you really going to base your result out of that race and say the ecoboost performed so well!

Pill has a point. The 1le has been given credit for the amount of grip it generates. Where is this grip? Car and Driver's Lightning Lap showed the GT being faster. Sooo....

They repaved and widened VIR a couple years ago, so you really can't compare the pre and post repave. Any given track (especially VIR full course) can change by 1-2 seconds depending on the time of day, and tires fall off over a competition day as well, especially tires with small tread blocks that are not ultra high performance tires with big tread blocks will drop on performance even quicker during a track day, losing second(S)... Too many variables in magazine tests, so trying to compare cars on the same day is difficult enough and different days pretty much impossible.

The 1LE merits accolades on an select few test out of the bunch and it gets a pass. This was a loaded GTPP Premium that this Competition 1LE went up against too you know. It was loaded down to make it within 80lbs of a 1LE (laughing at that) and to make the MSRP competitive (this is sad).

Congratulations...


Now, lets review real world results... and we will see the 1LE didn't really bring anything to the table except hype.

Because that is exactly what hype is. Building it up until it gets into our hands. Then we find we should have bought an Ecoboost.

Edit: Even the LL event is a 5 day, running in traffic event. Classes don't run together and it is in all sorts of conditions. It rained during the Boss 302's last run, nobody gave a sh!t... Nor do I...

The previous GT handled the 1LE in SCCA pretty handedly. Won a championship too... What you have been led to believe and what is actually happening are two completely different things.
