I have to make it up there. Looks like a great place for a GT350

Driven here many times. Wonder why the cones? Certainly slows one down. Also took the kink out of the equation. what occasion was this?

Oh wow! No lift shifts and an early car, awesome. Sounds like it's Spinning to about 9,000 too!!

Regarding the op's video, the soundtrack is great but lest some youngsters become confused, RA without the kink is the total pussification of of one of America's best tracks!

Not to take away from the driving or anything like that ...

I've built a few 289's years ago and they were all 9000rpm engines. The 289 is still one of the best engines ever. Carrol Shelby loved the mighty 289. That video is either a top loader or a Jericho. I had a few Jerichos and NOTHING shifts better or sounds better! Even the awesome voodoo and coyotes have a long long time until they match the Pedegree of the 289

Local guy here builds some pretty nasty engines of all types, a Ford fan at heart most of his personal engines are Fords. One in particular I believe he said was a destroked 302 that was now in the 289 realm. It was an all motor setup in a fox body mustang and he left the line close to 9k and shifted at 9500. I will never forget how that thing sounded, right up there with hearing my first v-10 f1 car in person lol.

Yep! They are bad ass little motors. A 302 is just a stroked 289. I've also built a 302 long rod engine once. Wouldn't mean much today as the heads available today flow ALOT better then what used to be available at the time.
