Currently I have the 555G2 with 9,500 miles at 6/32 (F) 5/32 (F). Reasonable I suppose, still have plenty of life and maybe I'll see 15,000 out of them. A little early here but maybe this discussion will help others who are in the market for new tires.

The above was collected from my own research through the internet and through previous discussions that were made here. Obviously, the main known trackable tires are the PSS and the Cup2 (non-r/ r) tires. All 3 offering you different results and feels. What I do not know is has anyone tracked the Nitto 555G2 or the Extreme Contact Sport tires?

I like the fact that the continental tires would give me meatier tires on the front and on the rear but that could negatively affect the performance. In fact, Billy Johnson mentioned when he drove the GT350R he suggested going with a 295 in the front for better handling.

For myself, I'd like to get 2 things out of this discussion.
1) Has anyone tracked the Nitto 555G2 on the 350?
2) Has anyone tracked the Extreme Contact Sport tires on the 350?

For the readers, feel free to take advantage of this 1 stop shop thread for all of your tire discussion and refer to it as needed. I'll update the picture above with a new image as new tires are added. Be advised, Cup 2 in any compound form will not be added as this thread is focused on spirited driving with maybe a track day in the year.

lower the car and run 305/30/19 and you will have a TON of choices.

Choices are great but the readers would also like to hear feedback on several other areas from your own experience such as how does it handle on the track if any along with spirited driving. The last thing anyone wants to do is purchase tires, get them put on, and discover their not what you were expecting and to repeat this behavior until pleased.

Super sports are great all around tires, long lasting but also fun at the track. safe/good in rain. I think my best time was a high 1:40.xx on these at my home track, but more consistently 1:41/1:42.

Cup 2 are faster, but can die in as few as 3 days on track if you are pushing the car. throw up rocks and road debris on the street but can be street driven. best time was a 1:40.12 on these. Not worth the premium price IMO.

RE71R are amazing on track and I guesstimate I'll get 6 or 7 days on them based on the 1st day of wear, great on street as they require very little heat to grip awesome, decent in rain till they wear down, then it's a death trap but that's same for almost any tire. I've heard they may get greasy on hot days but haven't had that issue yet. Best time was a 1:39.76 on these so far, very consistent 1:40.xx tire.

Next month should be testing supercar 3's and will update how long the re71s lasted once i kill them.

Thanks for the info on tires. I just bought my 2016 gt350 10 days ago and it is in need of new tires. If i change from the stock tire sizes to ones with 30 aspect ratio, would a shop like Costco or Just Tires be able to adjust for the impact to the speedometer and what not or would i need to go to a Ford dealer? Thanks again for this info.

Are you looking for track only tires? Or both on and off the track?

For my everyday tire, I am using Hankook Ventus V12 EVO2, 305/30/19 F and 325/30/19 R. Have been great so far, haven't tracked them though so not much information for you there. But for $1k they aren't bad. I've kept my cup2s on the CF wheels for track and a second set if ever needed.

Mostly street driving with 1-2 track days per year so good all around tire. Seems the only options in 305/35r19 and 295/35r19 are the PSS, Cup 2, and Nitto 555 G2. If i went with a 30 aspect ratio then the options open up. Seems as though 305/30r19 and 295/30r19 should fit fine on the stock gt350 rims but i'd have to have the ECU adjusted for the new size or does dropping from 35 to 30 aspect ration not make that much of a difference?
