Not real happy with Carbon Dynamics.I was quoted in writing "$400" (or less if I supplied the wheel) for their Leather/Carbon Mustang Steering wheel . So I went ahead and cancelled my Levittown GT350R wheel order thats been in since Dec, but at least I was in the queue. Asked CD Friday, again, when they would take deposits and they said its now $500. based on the amount of work they didn't know it was so labor intensive and now I had to send them a wheel to modify also (effective price now $650. based upon ebay pricing for used wheels). Well, they did show a prototype they built, so'd I'd disagree they didn't know how much labor they had into it? Also, they said they were buying a "bunch of wheels" from Ford to modify (and thus the $400. price) , but Friday they said not only did i have to supply a wheel, but its now $500!?
As a new business, you'd think they would be extra careful of their reputation esp. before they really have one, good or bad. Now, I got nothing ;(

$450 plus my wheel is what I got quoted when I inquired. Not a bad price imo.

Did you have an issue with the sharpie red bleeding into the Alacantara?

Nope not at all. Just use this kind of sharpie and it's easy to be accurate and not mess up the alcantara.

I have something similar on mine... I don't know if it's worth the return/exchange hassle
Thankfully I did not have this wheel shipped all the way to Asia. That would have been such a hassle to exchange with all the shipping and customs issues.

Good choice, the ink should be resistant against (gasp!) wet hands. :D

Is this really a defect? Was it always this way or did it develop over time? Right out of the box new, I think the alcantara material tends to be loose at the spoke edges. I believe the trim helps hold the alcantara in place.

Can't the issue just be resolved by lifting up the spoke trim, straightening out the alcantara material, and carefully reinstalling the trim? Granted, it would be a pain to try because you'd have to remove the airbag again, but it might save you the hassle of returning/exchanging the wheel and redoing the entire installation again.
