I'm thinking the base price will be around $60k.
I remember reading a rumor somehwere that all models would be seeing a 10% base price increase. That seems to be true about the gt which went from $30k to $33k. The 2014 gt500 base was $54k so 10% should put it at $60k.

I'm hoping for some awesome tech in the gt350. If it has a flat plane crank and ~600hp it would excite many in the automotive enthusiast community. Despite any weight gain, a 600hp fpc with cc brakes would be a monster. I think with options we might see gt350s going for $70-$75k. The base price and performance will best the z28, but with options I'll bet they will be similarly priced.

A direct injected twin turbo v8 with upwards of 700 horsepower could sit ford on top of the domestic horsepower wars again on the next gt500. That could see a base price of $75k+ depending on how much awesome tech they put into it.

As far as the lower priced s.e offerings $40-50k, look for the next Mach 1, which could feature a tuned up 5.0 with a 30-50hp bump over the gt along with some appearance exhaust and handling goodies.

This is my dream ford model plan...no facts, just opinions based on rumors and what I would like to see.

^that is misleading on multiple fronts

There was a rumor that the price would go up by 5% because the v6 base price went up by 4.8%, however that was quickly dissolved. Every car went up by around $1000-2000, which is actually very reasonable considering just how much stuff was upgraded.

Thus if the 2013 base boss had an msrp of $42k, it seems reasonable to assume the base price of the gt350 will be around $45k (optioned probably going up to $55k).

Now regarding the engine, even if it did have a NA fpc v8, 600 hp would be a truly outstanding engineering achievement - as in not possible with their current budget and materials. For reference, the most powerful NA v8 (made by Mercedes) currently makes
503 hp and has a very large 6.2L of displacement (ie wouldn't fit in the S550). I think 500+ hp would be more reasonable, but certainly less than 550.

Who knows about the gt500 though. A twin turbo DI v8 could theoretically close in on 700 hp, though I'm not sure the car really needs it. The current shelby makes more than enough power, the real things they needed to upgrade were the suspension and brake fade (both of which IRS should fix). This means that if the keep the same 662 hp and just modify the torque curve to get instant power, which the right gearing it could be a monster on the track.

I don't want to get into a battle of superlatives here, but the Ferrari 458's 4.5L direct-injected, naturally-aspirated V8 produces just over 560 horsepower. The 458 Speciale's output is even higher, at, I think, a few horses shy of 600 naturally-aspirated horsepower.

That may entirely be true, I found that off wikipedia lol. Could have meant highest powered NA production v8?

Eitherway, we're talking about supercars vs Ford. I actually happen to work in the department of Research and Advanced Engineering, and can tell you one of the toughest things we deal with are building things the company can't afford to put into production. It doesn't matter if the engineers are good enough to make it work, in the end the bean counters always win.

No problem. Oh, and for the record, I don't believe for one second that SVT's next-generation Mustang, whatever it winds up being called, will produce 600 naturally-aspirated horsepower. I just wanted to throw that out there.

Someone stated on here that there would be two SVT models. One at ~500hp, out at ~600hp, both N/A (If I remember correctly).

Well if it's on the internet it must be true ;)

Odds are the gt500 replacement (perhaps called mach 1?) will be a twin turbo'd DI engine based off either the trinity or voodoo blocks. It simply costs too much to develop two separate SVT engines from scratch.

Oh, believe me, I'm taking that with a grain of salt. Just adding potential additional information to the conversation here.

The further we go along here though, it seems more likely that there will be a GT350 with a 5.2 N/A and with or without FPC. Nobody has any idea (IMO) if there will be another SVT model -or- what it will be titled.

First off, awesome name. Lol

Second, I read that post earlier today and was itching to answer it but was a little busy. I'm glad someone said it.

Like you, I don't see 600hp, even if it was a possibility, believing it would be putting yourself up for some serious disappointment.

Also, if ford made the base GT350 start at 60, I think they would be losing a few buyers. Me for one...I'm really excited about the car and am willing to spend 50-55 for a decent optioned one (not that many options will be available) but if the base starts at 60, I'll be out and incredibly disappointed.

I thought the GT350 was supposed to be the new Boss 302 and the Mach 1 was supposed to be the new GT500. Due to that I had guessed 45-50k for GT350 and 65-70 for Mach1...

I have no insider information....So my opinions are really nothing more than speculation and guesses.
