My son was interested in getting a GT350, but is now looking at the Focus RS. I talked with the dealer that sold me my car and was told they had six allocations for the 2016 Focus RS......ALL SOLD OUT IN 8 HOURS!!! They have not heard anything from Ford regarding 2017 allocations, so he will have to wait. Anyone else getting an RS and heard the same story?

Is your son willing to go outside the state to get one?

BTW what is the going rate for a RS? Any ADM?

We got 3 initial allocations and sold them quickly. We got 2 extra and sold them in an hour. All between MSRP-5k over.

Check with the Ford dealer in San Leandro. I know they had at least one available a couple weeks ago.

Local dealer has a build date for theirs and it's not spoken for. I tried to pass it on to the Focus forum at $5k over and they about bit my head off. Twits over there don't have the car-guy-gene, IMO.

To that end, get the GT350.

They are two very different cars; I really didn't think they would get cross shopped.

If I could only one one performance car, it would certainly be the GT350. It's better looking, better sounding, and faster. Also, instant collectors item. However, I would NOT want to daily drive it, it's too expensive and easily damaged by steep parking lot/driveway entrances and such.

The Focus RS is the better choice if it's your only car and you need to daily drive it, however you sacrifice a lot of performance and style for practicality. In many parts of the country, AWD is absolutely necessary, however I see your in CA so it's definitely not something that's critical to year round use of the vehicle ;)
