I’m aware that typically when working on your suspension, changing springs, etc that you want to do final torque of suspension at curb weight.

Does this also apply if you’re just replacing half shafts? Do final torque of the axle nut and then get the wheels back on and on the ground and then do final torque of everything that was loosened? Most of what I see when people swap these, it isn’t done at curb weight.

That's only for bushings
so even with all the pivot points being loosened when doing half shafts, you don’t have to torque those back at curb weight?

Any bolt that passes through a rubber bushing needs to be tightened at weight. Some of the factory suspension points are spherical bearings and can be tightened in the air. If you have switched any to spherical bearings or poly they can be tightened in the air.

That makes sense. Thank you!

While on jackstands you can lift the control arm to ride height with jack and then tighten all.
