Pretty much most high performance high revving engines burn some oil under normal use. It's just part of the design so that the pistons wont expand to a point of damaging cylinder walls under extreme heat.
I'm well aware of that. That's my point. Some oil consumption is normal.

I call bull! They are telling you whatever they think will get you to stop seeing this as a problem. You are well within your right to hold them accountable for what you believe is an issue. However, this engine and many engine consume oil. It could be worse and you could deal with the headaches rotary engine owners have. I have a brand new engine built in November 2016 and it uses oil.
I don't disagree with you. Also, I've said many times I don't expect this thing not to burn oil. But, mine and many others is all over the map and it ended up burning around a quart every 500 miles. Which, I do think is too much.

If it burned between a quart 1000-1500 miles and stayed consistent at that rate, I would be just fine with that. But, that wasn't my case. Hopefully round 2 will be different.

By the way check your PM in a minute.

I had a rotary car and it was burning 1 qt every 1200 miles so about the same.
I had a E46 BMW that burned 1qt every 1000 miles too.
The thing with Voodoo and Coyote is you have to check the oil over night when it's cold.
When the engine is warm even after wating 15 minutes, not all the oil is drained from the top of the engine.

How much oil is it using?

The voodoo uses low tension rings for little friction. When the engine is used at lower rpm (normal street driving) ring seal is not optimized. It's not until higher rpm (spirited/ racing) that the rings make its tightest seal. If ford (Mahle) were to of made the pistons gas ported this would of help with ring sealing. And could of helped oil consumption.
Maybe I am missing something, but low tension rings are meant to reduce piston drag. To have ring groove gas porting as well would seem to defeat the purpose of low tension rings.

I've been busy as hell at work, but I'd figure I would give an update. I got my car back last Tuesday and Ford paid to have a flatbed bring it to my house. I won't be able to drive it until March or April so I won't know how round two goes.

I did an inspection at the dealer and luckily it doesn't look like I have any more damage or quality issues. It looked like it did the day I picked it up. A lot of you know Autonation White Bear Ford from their parts department, but I'll give kudos to their service department. From the tech and service managers they helped me with Ford as much as they could and got my car back to me in great shape. I really appreciated it and hopefully the worst is behind me with my car. After a lot of phone calls and negotiations corporate Ford came in at the end with some extra help as well. This definitely helped my attitude towards the brand.

FWIW, of all the "car stuff/driving" I've done, I've never driven one up on a flatbed before. As others know, we had to put a few wood planks on the ground so the splitter would have enough clearance to go on. I drove it up on there slowly and it doesn't look like much of an angle from outside, but inside it felt pretty steep and was very odd. I kicked a board out with the rear tire and made the back end shimmy a bit, which stopped my heart for a second, but all good in the end.

Now onto transmission coolers!

Nice to hear nice ending stories with dealerships once in a while, glad they took good care of you in a professional way.

As for the coolers, i'm waiting to see what SA has in store for us. I'll then take my decision based on who will have a complete no hassle cooler kit out and gladly give them my business.
So far it looks like SA is the only runner up in the race. Really disappointed in FP, deeply disappointed that is. :tsk:

Where I bought my GT350 at, they are back to selling GT350R's at 30K over sticker. They have fixed everything on the Shelby's and are back in business as usual.

What a racket. I should have bought a Ford dealership.....

Don't get too optimistic. Dealership has to sell hundreds of Focus and Fusion for every GT350. Many if not most of them attempting to haggle down below Truecar.

It is odd though that Ford doesn't ramp up supply of GT350 to meet demand. I would like to buy one below MSRP. That's just what I expect when shopping for a car.

The only way you'll be grabbing one below MSRP is if you get a used one.
Good luck.

But Ford is purposely only building 5000 GT350's and 500 R's just to make them a special car and probably only going to make them for 5 years is what I have read. Once the GT500 comes out and the Mach 1 and others, people will forget about the GT350. Then they will be cheap.

I don't understand what is odd about a limited production car? SMH

I agree about FP and Ford in general on a lot of this stuff. Hopefully my story doesn't change in the spring when I start driving it again. Everything worked out in the end, but it was a ton of phone calls/time to get it everything to happen. They definitely could've made the process a lot easier. I get it, they are in business to maximize profits etc. But, it would be nice one time if it didn't need to be a massive headache to get to this point.

I know it kinda sucks, but when I had the M3 and the front end was pulling to the right straight from the showroom floor. I took it in and the BMW dealer said they aligned it. They didn't do crap. Still pulled. Then it wore out the $450 apiece tires and when I went back for the 2nd "free" oil change. They said, "your tires are wearing out". And I said, "because you won't align the front end".

I took it to 2 dealers and they would not do anything. One person said, "they all pull".

All BS. I will never by another BMW product.

I remember that and mine did it as well off of the show floor. I got lucky though and they were able to align it correctly the first time. But, I know a lot were in your situation and did not get so lucky. It is definitely a crapshoot/luck on how good the dealer/tech is at fixing your car.
