Talked to some people that have some access to this and apparently the 550 NA HP is dead on.

Too bad about the lack of snakes. I love the Cobra badges on my GT 500. Hell, who am I kidding, I love the whole flipping car. Sure hope they drop a monster GT500 replacement on us. Will make a nice stable mate for the current snake.

There is the whole Shelby/Ford debate thing going on..
I thought this was resolved be Mr Shelby's passing?

That being said, Shelby American have been very quiet about what they will be doing with S550. Roush, Saleen and RTR have already given us sneak peeks, but nothing from SA.

Could we see a reverse of the situation we had during the S197 years? There, Ford build the GT500 and any Shelby-ized versions of the GT500 were the SuperSnake. But Shelby built the GT350 (well, modified a Ford build Mustang GT).

Could we now see Ford building the GT350 and Shelby building a GT500 (a heavily modified GT/GT350)??

Personally, I'd like to see Ford build both GT350 and GT500 (perhaps the latter being a supercharged/ecoboost version of the 5.2 Voodoo.......although forced induction would probably negate the need for a FPC, as it wouldn't need to rev so high).

Then just leave Shelby American to turn up the wick on whatever Ford/SVT builds.

However, I'm aware we've never had two SVT Mustangs available for sale at the same time from Ford.

Well, in 1993 and '95 we had the Cobra and Cobra R models simultaneously :D
Yeah, alright smarty-pants...........I expect we'll also have GT350 & GT350 R this time around, too :p

From HyperStangs Facebook page (not that they quote any sources or even link anywhere else!)

RUMOR ALERT: we've made some predictions in the past. We were certainly one of the first to predict the GT350, but this one may top that. Information we've obtained has lead us to believe we know the new Super Snake replacement, and it is the NEW Shelby GT500 based on the GT350 platform. Initial production could start concurrently with the SVT release

I think the GT500 is inevitable at some point, but I doubt it's coming anytime soon, though. Also great choice to base it off the GT350's engineering.. but what is the 500's focus going to be..?

Just moAr horsepower..? And drag radials..? Or, will it offer diff suspension bits, etc..? Supercharged..? 9-spd auto?

Really hard to tell, when we don't even know the details of the 350, but there are some exciting times on the way...

Based on the GT350 platform? I would be more likely to believe it if they proofread.
