The rim size stuff seems like a rabbit hole of calculations, rim, width, offset... Do you guys mind just telling me what the offset is supposed to be on my rims?

Two questions:

1) I believe the fronts on the GTPP are 9"x19", and the rears are 9.5"x 19"

2). Is there a way to just go to ONE size for winters? Say 9"x19" all around? Would be better... what's the offset on that then?

Thanks!

Same boat here, car is suppose to arrive mid jan. and we get 50-60 inches of rain that time of year. I would sure like to get some all seasons with a square setup.

The factory PP wheels are:
Front: 19x9 offset 45 mm
Rear: 19x9.5 offset 52.5 mm

For a winter square setup you could run PP fronts on all four corners. There are a ton of threads about people running square setups, so you could get some specific info there.

For the front you probably have about 6.75" of backspacing to work with. This means 19x9 offset 45mm or 19x9.5 with 38mm offset.

ETA - Those offsets are your max (positive) offset. You could go 19x9 or 9.5 with a 30 or 35 mm offset which will push the wheels out board.

Gents, right now I am positioned with a local shop to go with 9.5 width PP time all around with 275 DWS06's all around. The price is awesome. See any issues? I think this is better than 245s all around so I keep the traction in the rear.

You'll need a 5mm or 7mm spacer on the front to run rear PerfPack wheels in the front.

You can run the same 265 tire on the 9" and 9.5" wheel. 275 on a 9" may be pushing it though.

No reason you can't stay staggered on winter wheels also. if your main concern is cold pavement traction I would go with 265 front and 285 rear. This is what I did with Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4's. I would stay staggered before I started changing wheels and adding spacers.

275s on a 9" wheel is perfectly fine. The stock rear PP wheel is only half an inch wider, quarter inch per side. That's not going be enough of a difference to make it unsafe to mount. Heck, I bet just by looking at the tire bulge you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between a 275 on a 9.5" wheel and the same 275 on a 9" wheel while on the car.

But I do agree that there's nothing wrong with being staggered. If anything, you want a slightly narrower front tire for better traction through snow. There's no need for 275 winter tires on the front of the car.

I don't need a snow tire at all, not in Knoxville 5th. Just Getti away from the pointless P Zeros. No traction 50 degrees and down.

The “winter set” that came with my car (which never saw snow) are Ford Racing silver GTPP wheels with all seasons; I’ve been thinking of selling them since they’re just taking up storage space. Less than 1200 miles on them, TPMS and everything. OE sizes all around. I think Yokahamas but I’d have to check.

Well, I am a bit stumped as to what to do. Certainly there are plenty who say that the 9.5" with the 275 works fine up front. It does require a 5mm spacer. Is this a problem in and of itself?

I don't want to kick the can down the road another month or so while I research more, as it was 28 this morning and of course the tires were like hard plastic.

Maybe I'm at the point of diminishing returns with the research... I have a set of 9.5's on order, they'll be here in about 7 days (I could always cancel them).

I have ordered a set of 4 275/40 DWS06's. I could also cancel that order.

And I could second-guess myself for eternity. :) But.. it looks like this will work, and the tires are well respected for year-round use. So... ya'll tell me what you think about this setup on the front, and I'll either press on or cancel. Hmm...

(side note - I appreciate you guys talking about the 9" fronts and keeping a staggered set. I could have saved some money, but I did want to be able to rotate tires, too. really on the fence about all of this...)

Any of those options would work really, comes down to what you want to do.

Personally I wouldn't put the 9.5" up front, adds cost and complexity that is unnecessary, plus I'm not a big fan of spacers myself.

I would cancel the wheels order, use the 9" in the front and 9.5" on the back. Then either put the 275 all around as others said will work fine, or stay staggered.

IMO not being able to rotate really isn't that big of a deal. Yes if you rotate all the tires will wear even and last about the same amount of time. If you cant rotate, you'll just have to replace the rears earlier and the fronts will last you probably 2X as long. In the end it evens out cost-wise anyway, and you dont have to do/pay for rotations lol. If you went this route you could do 265/285 if you want more traction in the rear if you want to.
