I'm looking at getting myself a new Mustang GT in DIB, and I think silver rims absolutely make it pop. I especially love the way the 50th anniversary edition pack looks with a DIB mustang (ex: http://mustangattitude.com/mustang/2015/2015_00009_01.jpg).

However, I want to get the PP, but the PP only comes with black wheels. I'm guessing that's because those big brakes make so much brake dust that they get wheels dirty in no time flat. Has anyone tried swapping silver wheels onto a GT with the performance pack? And, is it even possible to custom order a 2015 (or 2016) GT with the PP and silver wheels? The Mustang Configurator on Ford's website seems to say it's impossible.

Your best option is probably to just sell the stock PP rims and tires and get the wheels you really want. I've seen them go for $1000-1200 in the classifieds and you can get some really nice 19's or 20's with much better tires than the Pirelli's for $2000.

It's not a DIB, but this is a car with the euro-spec custom pack (which includes the PP).
These wheels will be available in the US for MY2016.

Oh, cool! I did not realize that would be an option for 2016's. That sounds like the easiest option. Thanks for the info!

Another option is to pick up a '15 which should be discounted soon and have the wheels refinished. Some here in the forum have done that. Like you, I prefer the lighter colored wheels as well. I went with the 50th anniversary appearance package and love the look of the wheels against the DIB car.

Wow, that looks great! About how much would it cost to get that done?

Yep. The style makes the wheels look too small up against the S550 body in lighter wheel colors.

BS. The black wheels look like holes.
Right there with you.

I like silver, chrome, anthracite, charcoal . . . . maybe even bronze on the right color car.

But black wheels look like the hub caps fell off.

Also the design of the PP black wheels are tough to wash. I sold my black PP wheels and bought Forgestar CF10's.
