Hey guys,

Anyone else with a GT automatic have a click/chink noise when shifting from reverse to drive or when driving away from an intersection? Also does it when in sport+ or manual when up shifting then also when putting power back on?

I fear that since there are limited numbers here in Australia and this is a one off issue, they will struggle to fix it.

Any feedback would be great!!

Yep, you will hear some clunk when shifting between R and D.

It's an American car. Everything is a bit looser tolerance. If you watched them get built you'd wonder how they even drive.

there is a large thread about this issue already, check it out. bad output flange from transmission to driveshaft seems to be the consensus

Mine did this too for about 10 months but completely disappeared over the winter. Waiting to see if it returns in the summer when temps warm up. It is the output flange as others have stated.

Don't know if I should be worried that it disappeared or not. I'm hoping it broke in somehow after putting 10k miles on her.

It's just the transmission is broke in engaging much more smoothly now. New automatic transmissions are clunky.
I too notice the automatic gets smoother and smoother.

Thanks for the replys everyone. It does sound like a output yoke spline noise. You don't feel it, only hear it.
Had a few aussie Falcons with two piece drive shafts an ZF 6 speeds and had not heard this noise. It's just about due for its 3000km check, so I will raise it with the dealership anyway, then there is no cone backs latter if something does let go.
