I like the grille delete look. I'd assume it helps as far as cooling air but someone said having an open grille increases drag. Anyone notice any changes in performance good or bad?

You probably won't notice the difference, but the portions of the grille that are blocked off are indeed to reduce drag. An extreme example of this is Nascar where they will block off as much of the front openings as possible without overheating.

If you have a CAI, the benefits from colder air would put weight the grille drag MASSIVELY, the car won't be affected by the drag much at all, but the IAT will be reduced

Also a flat piece of plastic isn't very aero anyway, at least do something useful wth the air rather than have it slamming into a plastic sheet in the grille

That's not how aero works. Air pressure will build in front of the grill only to a point before flowing air moves up and over the hood.

If you Track, Solo, Curcuit or Series, it is highly recommended you drop the mesh. Even though the Mustang has a large dual opening, the mesh is more of an OEM thing for highway speeds over 50.

In the events I mentioned above, the vehicle experiences a lot of cross draft into the grill areas while turning. At highways speeds, pressure is consistent and can cause hood lift and, reduce aero due to this invisible block of compressed air in front of the car. Essentially, the very aerodynamic design of the car could be rendered useless.

i like the grill as is but if the grill on this RTR ever was an option i would go right for that, minus the green highlights of course.

I'm sure the less plastics are recommended to reduce track cleanup as well.

So without a grill what prevents road debris from punching through your radiator?

Well it will have to punch through the ac condenser first. I had a Saleen grill on my 2012 GT and I always track my mgp through Fuelly. If drag was increased much then I would have seen a noticeable fall off and that did not happen. I have seen several people in the 15s say the grill deletes lowered aits and cylinder head temps even without a lower thermostat.
