Grabber Blue S550 production numbers

So I was wondering if my guesstimate was accurate for how many Mustangs I see on my commute. So I decided to count them on the way home yesterday. To be fair, I didn't go straight home but kept going past home to get a haircut, then drove back home. All in all roughly a 30 mile trip.

In that trip, I saw (not counting my own car):

8 S550 coupes
3 S550 convertibles
9 S197 coupes
1 New Edge coupe
1 SN195 coupe

Random day drive home and I saw 22 Mustangs.

Not a single one was Grabber Blue.

Update on the numbers. Received the Marti Report for my now-sold EcoBoost convertible. 727 of them made. Now just missing V6 numbers. Need V6 owners to contribute...

727 GB Ecoboost convertibles, 204 with ceramic seats. So the remaining 523 GB verts had black seats? Or is there a different trim that I'm not accounting for?

Well, I don't know exactly. But for sure there was the brown leather and red leather interiors, aside from black and "ceramic" leather, and black cloth. But I don't know which of those were made for GB cars. I would hope nobody's riding around in a grabber blue with red interior...

I don't believe you could get the red interior with GB, only black, gray, silver and white cars.

Based on the numbers you posted, there are 9,384 grabber blue mustangs made in 2017, not including the v-6 verts. Given the low number of GB v6 coupes, I'm guessing the v-6 verts will be around 300, and that would put it at less than 10K all in.

I agree with your estimate. So if we round numbers, we're looking at 10K total Grabber Blue S550 Mustangs made. I confirmed with the people at Marti Reports that the numbers are for global production, not just US cars. According to Ford, in 2017 there were some 125K Mustangs sold. That doesn't mean there were 125K 2017 model year cars made, since in 2017 they could have sold 2016 model year cars, and they very likely sold 2018 model year cars. But using that figure as representative of every year of S550 sales, there have been roughly 600K S550 Mustangs made and sold. Assuming 2019 goes in the same direction, by the end of 2019 there should be about 700K S550 Mustangs made/sold, with less than 10K of them being in Grabber Blue. That's 1.42% of S550s in Grabber Blue (through end of 2019, would be even lower if we keep popping out S550s for years to come) - and they're spread all over the world. From the GBMR Facebook page, I can tell you there's a ton of GBs in Australia and some throughout the world, making the amount of GBs in the US even lower.

Hi there. It takes 3-5 days, depends on whether there's a weekend in between. You should have it this week but I guess it varies with demand. I'm guessing your car should be less than 1 in 50, but we'll see with your report. Please share it when you get it so I can update the CS GT Convertibles number.

The dealer I bought it from had a whole story about the GB GT/CS Convertibles, that less than 15 were made and given out as executive fleet vehicles to promote the brand... we'll see if that was true.

I finally found the original sticker, as Marti Sales requested it, did they request anyone else's? What's REALLY odd, at least, to me... is the bottom left of the sticker says the car was shipped directly to Ford World HQ Garage... aren't they normally sent to dealerships?
