BLIS: Cross-Traffic Alert.

I never assumed that BLIS would warn me that a pedestrian or bicyclist was crossing behind me. But BLIS certainly works well warning of approaching cars and trucks. When I accepted delivery of my Premium Mustang...I asked my salesperson how effective BLIS was. He did not know...so he took out a car from the lot and I parked between two large SUVs. I absolutely could not see anything approaching using the mirrors. As soon as I slowly eased the rear end out less than a foot, BLIS began to bleep and display an approaching vehicle. BLIS was able to detect the salesperson's car more than 40 feet away.
But if he had been going 30-40 mph through the lot, I don't think that I could have reacted fast enough to stop soon enough.
I also backed into the spot. I had to stick my front end out until some of my side windows were clear of the SUVs. So nearly 1/2 of my Mustang had to stick out before I could check whether or not the lane was clear. So I try to park head-in and let BLIS help me.

Wanted to give a quick update - as of now, my insurance is agreeing with me and putting the other party at fault. We'll see how it pans out from here. I cleaned up the rear bumper to the best of my ability but there's no denying that she needs a re-spray and some work to get the dents out.

That's good news. Are you considering keeping your car now? You had mentioned the insurance being an influence in your decision to sell it at one point.

I handle CA auto claims, unless you have 3 solid independent witnesses and their phone numbers, you will likely be at fault. All the kid has to do is lie and you are screwed. Sorry dude its just the way it works.

Glad your insurance sided with you, they did that for customer service, if the other kid has collision cvg and files then this will go to arbitration in the future and you will likely lose at that point. I'm also an arbitrator.

Thankfully I had 4 independent witnesses. All of whom my insurance was able to get ahold of. :headbang:.

It does look like it will be going to be arbitration, sucks cause I'll have to pay to get the car repaired in the mean time and it can take months before someone is deemed at fault from what I'm told.

It really depends on how this next 1-1.5 months goes at work. I'd love to keep it, especially after all the money invested. But I don't want to work simply to pay for my car. I was initially paying much less for insurance otherwise I probably would've kept on in my search for a C6 and passed on the S550.

Good times, eh? :)
