How much were those speakers? I might follow in your foot steps. And are the speakers riveted in place or bolted?
I ended up doing something totally different... Next post...

So I ended up going in a different direction. Here's the thing: there's a big difference between how it sounds sitting in the garage, and when driving around. The more I drove around, the more I started to feel my sound was too "bright". What I should have done, is what someone posted up earlier, gone with component speakers in stead of coaxial. The coaxial added too many additional tweeters.

Long story short, I went to local sound shop, got a JL 10" powered subwoofer, put the stock front speakers in, and removed the deck speakers in their entirety. The sound is far better than anything I had expected. I also took the time to run power and remote from the battery/fuse box to the back yesterday. It really isn't hard, just time consuming. There are a few vids on Youtube, and I took the best ideas of two separate videos. One from where they ran the wire in the fender, the other how they ran the wire through the grommet behind the passenger side wheel well.

Now, tuning it in is another area that takes sometime. With just the stock fronts and tweeters on the A pillar, I set the sub crossover to 50hz so it literally only carries bass. I'm still messing with the input sensitivity.

I may very well leave it the way it is, but I think I can do better by getting a set of component speakers for the front only. I don't think I'm going to put anything on the rear deck. When I experimented by keep the rear deck speakers, they just "muddled" up the sound actually.

Here's what I ended up getting yesterday:

Should sound nice and full, which seems to be the sound your going for. As long as you like it man! One thing I hated was taking the tire off to run the wire. But needless to say the interior comes apart rather easy aside from the radio bezel trim and ACM having a short factory wire harness.
