I just finished to install the exact same speakers in my 2015 convertible (just the rear speakers) and I have almost 0 bass, I'm sure the cables are properly connected.

Definitely more crisp but lack of bass is a deal breaker, I was planning to add this Powered Under-Seat Compact Subwoofer Enclosure System from JBL http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_99975_JBL-BassPro-SL.html to add more bass without having to worry out power issues.

The kicker speakers rates at 100rms (300 peak) what would be the best efficient 4 amp ch to get those 100rms and with the JBL at the same time? I'm planning to use 8 awg and put the amp under the dash, is that possible?

Thanks!
Hey drst0ck: the convertible speakers (rear) don't have a cabinet/baffle if I recall correctly, so there will be hardly any bass. I am installing a coax pair next week with the expectation only to clear the muddy sound.

The JBL under seat sub looks promising! Perhaps 1 under each seat would be killer.

The JBL have their own amp from the specs in the link you posted, so you would need an amp for the rear - I noticed you didn't mention front?

I would amplify both Front and Rear; if you want something small look at the Rockford Fosgate Punch PBR300x4 - it is small enough to tuck away above the drivers foot, behind the hood latch.

Just checked re: underseat subs; there is a huge bracket under the driver seat holding some sort of wiring that will prohibit any sub under the seat.

Thanks assclown... yep, the rear speakers doesn't have any enclosure, however the original speakers had a "good" bass.

I'm still undecided, the main reason I selected the JBL was because adding something in the truck left almost no space for large items... also it sounds amazing even with that small size, it can "fit" under the passenger seat.

I'm surprised, does the base stereo has 25w rms per channel or what? I'm very afraid that adding any extra amp will induce some "noise", not to mention that it's very hard to get a clear signal, even using only the high inputs.

The amp you posted looks nice, I would pick the 2 channel version just to recover the lost bass and fulfill the speakers:

Or maybe I'm just tired because past weekend I upgraded the cloth seats with the leather ones and damn... that was hard!.

What's the ohm rating on the factory speakers vs the ohm rating on the aftermarket replacements??
