Hello,

I've recently purchased a set of the SVE SP2 wheels 19x10 squared and am looking for tires to accompany them.

I've decided that although I do primarily (99%+) drive in temperatures that are about 40+ degrees (Definitely not freezing temps, and no snow), I do want the ability to drive up to snow country and not risk my tires not being safe to drive, cracking, blowing out, etc.

I am looking for an all season tire to pair with these wheels that is sized at 285/35/r19. My understanding is that a 285/35/R19 is the most tire I can put on there, but if there are other alternates that would suit this wheel well, I'm open to suggestions.

Would anyone be able to weigh in on if a 275/35/r19 would work and be sufficient? I'm not super confident in tire size selection, but had read through another post regarding these wheels and it sounded like a 285 was the more often purchased size.

If I can put a 275/35/r19 on there, and not have any issues, I could go with a Michelin AS4, which would make my life easier. I live in Arizona, which in my head makes sense that a summer tire would work all year around, but if I drive up to flagstaff during the winter, I don't want to be worried that my tires are going to have issues.

Please let me know your thoughts!

Cannot go wrong with Continental DWS06 or Michelin As4.

Get the Michelins in whatever size comes closest. 275 fits on a 10 inch wide wheel quite comfortably.

I have the same wheels coming. They are supposed to be here tomorrow. My car currently has the base GT 18s.
I put Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ on the stock wheels and I have been very impressed with them. I go on some
Hard fast mtn runs and they have not disappointed.
Because of that I have already reserved a set of AS3+ in 285/35/19 to go on the new wheels. AS4 should be as good or better.

Where did you find that size for the A/S3+? I had those on my previous set of wheels and loved them.

I had checked discount, but it doesn't appear 285/35/19 is available for either tire.

I ordered them online at a local discount tire. They are still on Discount tires website. Maybe older stock.

Is only 26.6" tall. Stock, on PP1 anyways, is 27.1" (255/40-19) and 27.7" (275/40-19). I have 275/40-19 on 10" sq setup. Looks great.

Agreed!
Would you think there'd be any issues with fitment of the 275/35/19? I just got off the phone with Discount Tire. Apparently there are 0 available nationwide 285/35 and backordered with no estimated date currently.

When I asked about 275/40, they told me I'd be rubbing in the front. Is this accurate or do they not know what they're talking about here?

It seems like if I wait for the 285, the stang is out of commission for the foreseeable future. But I haven't heard anyone buying the 275/35 for it, it seems to be 275/40 or 285/35.

Do you have any issues with rubbing running the 275/40s? Are you running spacers or anything?

The rub limit to the spring perch is ~28.3 inches according to my notebook. I measured myself against new tires for snow tire fitment.

You might rub the wheel well at full lock with 275 40 r19, but 275 40 R18 will also rub the wheel well with 7mm spacers on an et45 wheel. So consider it basically unavoidable.

There is nothing wrong is 275 35 r19. I use that size for my rain tires.

So if I'm reading this correctly, it sounds like 275/40 or 275/35 will do the trick. I believe these specs match up with what you have on there (Btw, beautiful car).

SVE Wheels:
  • Finish: Gloss Black
  • Size: 19x10
  • Backspace: 6.88"
  • Offset: +35mm
  • Weight: 24.1lbs
I was trying to find information for the ET35 online, and might be slightly challenged, but couldn't locate it to compare. Any chance you could post the specs so I can see back-to-back for peace of mind? This purchase is quite the expensive one, so I'm trying to not screw it up if I can avoid it.

Sorry if that's a waste of time to ask, but I really do appreciate all the input.

Should have noted +40 with a 5mm spacer in front. The PS4's have a BIG rim protector lip, (Thank God!) and is pretty close to front strut. Not lowered, well it's being lowered as I type, only 1/2" so I shoud be OK.

So I guess the question becomes where am I buying 5mm spacers, and are they necessary if I won't be lowering? Any suggestions?

Is +40 with a 5mm spacer equivalent to a +35mm without spacer? Or does it go the other way? Not sure how the math works on those.

I guess it becomes do I need no spacer to match(40-5= 35-35=no), or do I need a 10mm(40+5=45-35=10)?
