I forgot to add that I still have stock cats so I haven’t wanted to push it too hard yet. Its VMP tuned and cat protection is enabled. I live in an emissions state and haven’t wanted to play that game yet. I’m going to look into getting them off this year.
Mt 17 GT has been boosted for over 23,000 miles with no issues. The car has
VMP GEN2R with 85MM pulley
56lb injectors
VMP fuel rails
VMP Boosta pump
JLT 125mm CAI
Ford twin 60 TB
Car made 611 wheel. I’m thinking of trying the 79mm pulley out. Anyone else running a similar setup? Is there...
I know this sounds backwards but used oil will keep your motor quieter than new oil. I would just drive it and it will likely get quieter as the oil gets some miles on it.
Different platform but my Nissan V8 has the coyote tick. It’s always at its worst with fresh oil. It slowly...
My 17 is boosted And the trans ratios are great. I have a 3.31 axle ratio. The 3.73 cars might have a bit more trouble but the actual trans ratios in most cases are very nice with boost.
When you at Amsoil Diff fluid do you mean differential fluid? That’s the wrong fluid. The final 0.7 quarts of fluid should be 75w90 GL4 manaul trans specific fluid.
The diff fluids are GL5.
Ben calimer actually recommends a full fill of the GL4 Amsoil now
15 - 17 Gen 2 with the 6r80 is the most reliable combo for big power.
Even the 15-17 manual MT82 seems to hold up better than the 18 - current
Of course the 10 speed is faster but for how long?
The 15-17 Gen 2 motor seems better for boost although the Gen 3 is certainly awesome as well
Probably not doable because the older GT500’s are blow down design superchargers. It won’t work with the DI hardware in the valley of the Gen 3 coyote.
Per Lund Racing Gen 2 is the strongest and best choice for boost.
Gen 3 is still very good. Both seem to be better than their mass produced competition from GM, and Chrysler.
My 17 GT is right at 30,000 miles. Boosted for 15k. Runs amazingly well. I can clean shift every gear at 7700 rpm except 5th. 5th locks me out when revved out.
Still has the stock clutch.
I don’t launch it a lot but it does see a lot of roll racing, and aggressive mtn runs.
Mantic,
LPX...
My car isn’t making the power yours is but here is my experience.
I have a 17 GT. 611 WHP.
IT’s been boosted for 15,000 miles. 30,000 total miles on car.
I don’t track it but I have launched it on the street multiple times. LOTS of roll racing. A good bit of high paced mtn runs. I use...
My 17 GT did not come with sync 3. I installed OEM parts from infotainment.com about 3 weeks ago and so far it has worked just like it came from Ford.
Today for a few seconds while cruising on the hwy the screen went blank. I’m not sure what I did to make it wake back up but it did and it...
Many here collect the parts themselves and spend a lot less. I just wanted a hassle free experience where everything just worked so I spent $1900 with infotainment.com and installed the 8 inch with sync 3 into my base 17. Have had it for 3 weeks and it has worked almost flawlessly. I run Waze...
150k seems to be the go to recommendation. I don’t like it. My 17 MT82 also has a 150k interval. It’s BS.
30k is the farthest I would go. These are Mustangs. They are going to be pushed a bit.
The Gen 2 coyote is comfortable making 650 wheel on pump gas. 93 octane. 700 wheel is also easy on E85.
I boosted my 17 GT at 15k. Now with 29k the car runs great and hasn’t missed a beat. It’s not my DD so it’s gets beat on almost every time I drive it.
I have a VMP GEN2R blower...
I have a 17 GT. Installed new factory PP1 take offs on my car. They synced up with no issue. No tool needed.
Recently got new wheels and bought new Ford performance sensors from LMR. They came with the tool. Drove the car maybe 30 feet and they were synced up. Tool not needed...
Haha.
I have a modest build with a VMP GEN2R on my 17 GT. Making 611 wheel I can walk a regular stock Hellcat. Last time I ran one he pulled up after the run and claimed he was using the 500 HP key. Sure buddy!!
Did they ever offer PP1 in Chrome? My friend just got a 21 GT. He bought these used Chorme PP1s today. They have PS4S tires with about 80% tread. Got them for $700
