You want to use 5w50 with your new supercharger. What supercharger did you pick. I recently as in the last week installed a ESS gen 3.

Why $3000 more
He's not wrong on additional parts you will want. Did you change out the factory OPG and crank sprocket? That's a $3000 parts and labor job in and of itself. You can do it yourself but will still have added cost of parts. Your going to need to at the very least upgrade to bigger injectors and a Boost a pump. You will need new spark plugs a colder thermostat 170°. You will need a dual valve catch can. Your going to need a tuner and a custom tune for boosted application. $1000 is a good estimate for that. Plus gaskets and seals for OPG job. DO NOT SKIP doing OPG. The factory gears are weak and when they let loose you need a motor. So yes $3000 additional is a safe guess. Heres a picture of factory OPG. I dropped this gear from waiste height and it broke.

Opg and crank sprocket are something some people do for added protection but lots of people also leave the stock ones, when you buy a superchargered mustang from ford they leave the stock ones and have no problem giving you a 100k mile warranty. I understand stand both sides of the argument in the end its up to you. The drop test always cracks me up tho. I think opg is more for track focused cars that will be on the 2 step at high rpm alot or if you plan on bouncing over the rev limiter all the time. But like I said before I understand both sides of the argument I had a tooth break of my crank gear on a stock car shit happens and if it helps you sleep better at night get it done by someone that knows what they are doing, best of luck

CAN you spend another 3k? sure thing!

do you NEED another 3k? Not if you get the whole kit.

WILL you eventually spend another 3k? yes, on tires and clutches 😎

OPG is like the coke/pepsi debate…some do, some don’t.

I did not, now have 85k on her, 25k ProCharged and rolling 😬👍🏼
