They aren’t forcing them to buy EV’s. They’re INCENTIVISING it. They’re also incentivising people to buy new OR secondhand cars, whether they be EV or ICE….
I knew you would jump on that.

China is a Communist Country. I don't need to explain to you what that means.

Then why did you say it?
What does communism (combined with capitalism mind you) have to do with Chinese citizens being free to choose whether to buy a new car or not?
Your first argument didn’t work so you thought it might be better to move the goalposts? Seems to me that if you knew Id jump on it, you might’ve chosen a different (perhaps even a winning) argument.

Bawahahaha. Chinese are not free to choose anything. The few chosen elite can somewhat. The reg jo. Nope.
Did you ever go there? If so did you venture out past the dog and pony show they put on for ALLOWED in business men or tourists? If not you know nothing of what you speak. AT ALL!

You guys make some very strange arguments.
Quite clearly some people in China are quite free to choose which kind of new car they will buy, or, they can choose not to buy one at all.
The argument was that they’re being forced into EV’s.
Clearly that’s not true.
We teach children to accept defeat graciously, perhaps you could learn something from them?

it’s not strange at all for people who have common sense……those people can think for themselves. You on the other hand……just love to argue about things you know nothing about.

Common sense says that if a government is offering incentives to people to buy new cars, THOSE people MUST have a choice. It’s pretty simple, yet seemingly too complex of a concept for you guys.

Government: “You MUST buy a new car, but we’re going to make it cheaper for you to help you to not make the decision to buy a new car”. LMFAO.

Yep, just like the choice of a jab or a job........

I have a friend who, has been/is, living in China the last 15 years or so. I'll ask him.

Yes, please do ask him to explain why the government is subsiding the cost of a car that people are being forced to buy. This will be fun.

I think the underlying issue is reading comprehension.
My original statement was to the effect that Chinese citizens are free to choose what type of car (if any) that they might choose to purchase.
That doesn’t mean ALL Chinese citizens. I said ”citizens”. PLURAL, meaning more than one, but not necessarily more than two.
Pay attention to the words I use. If I meant to say “all”, I would‘ve included the word “all”.

Back tracking once again and trying to blame comprehension. You know we were referring to china and with common sense would know that most “almost all“ do NOT have a choice.

Lol. Now you’re trying to blame me for your deficiencies. Brilliant. Couldn’t make this shit up.

Hello; While doing searches on my computer just now I had C-Span Washington Journal on in the background. A final segment was about climate change. They had a fellow on to speak and answer questions, Patric Gonzalez of University of California. He of course was asked about the Canadian fires and of course attributed them to climate change.
The reason for my post is a final caller pointed out Chinas place as the top polluter and that all that pollution does not respect borders. The caller asked about the need to get China to reduce pollution. Bet some of you already know his (Patric Gonzalez) response. Think Burkey.

He acknowledged Chinas #1 polluter status, then immediately started giving per -person stats for Americans in tons of Co2. He spent the vast majority of the time dissing on us rather than about Chinas pollution. You know, the way Burkey did the per -capita stuff not long ago. Of course, it is the overall amount of Co2 in the whole earth's atmosphere which is the basis for the human climate change fear mongering.

An irony followed the Washington Journal show. That being an announcement of coverage at 11:00 AM of a proposal by the EPA that at least 60% of cars sold (USA) must be electric by 2030. It was just so rich that the announced coverage followed on the heels of his (Patric Gonzalez) per -capita spiel. We are to be restricted from buying ICE by 60% if the EPA proposal goes into force, but China gets a verbal pass again.

I do not know if Burkey still has me on ignore. Hope he does not as I await his response.

This is what tells everyone it is not a crisis. If it was, total numbers would matter, not per person. This is just another step toward global communism. Everyone equal.

That is not meant to be political, just what I think.
