Maybe not, but the reason leaded petrol was removed in the US and UK was that it is dangerous to health. If it was not legislated out of use then it would still be on sale now, it was banned for the greater good of the people and their health. EXACTLY the same reason for the ICE ban.

However going back to where this originated from, the democratic process of electing people who run your states and country is exactly that, a democratic process and so the views and decisions of the majority decide what will happen. If the majority believe that ICE vehicles should be phased out, that is what will happen.

Hello; Gotta love your last few posts regards republic & democracy. "Now time to get back on topic" is code for you lost the exchange but will not admit it.
In a way i like this a bit better than the spin & contort you tried back in the Covid natural immunity back and forth we had. I think of that as a heads I win tales you lose sort sore of logic.

To refresh, I contended all along natural immunity was good from the get-go. You went with the official line that only shots really counted so all had to have the jabs, even natural survivors. In the fullness of time, we learned natural immunity is still good as it has been for a very long time.
You contended i was wrong because i did not accept the official dogma early on and you were correct because you did accept the official dogma. I really did get a kick out of that one.

Even tho i had called it correctly. I did not shut up and bow to my "betters", so I was wrong. You felt that because you marched in step with the official dogma you were correct even tho you bet on the wrong horse. This most recent exchange is a lot easier to follow.

Hello; were it actually so simple. Lots of coal miners and related jobs lost in my area, but so far as i have seen not one "green" energy job around here yet.
Oh, I get it. Those miners are to uproot and go to where the "green energy " jobs exist. Fair enough in a natural economic cycle. A better product shoves aside the inferior product.
Oh, i forgot momentarily. The green energy infrastructure and EV's are the inferior product, thus far to date, and an unnatural process is trying to push out a well-functioning energy/transportation system.

As is so often the case you throw out some simplistic band aid comment which does not even start to cover the larger problem. Throw on some barely relevant links again to smoke screen when you do not have a decent rebuttal.

Please don’t think I have anything personal against you. I think that you seem to be very sincere in your way of thinking. We just disagree on ideology and that’s fine we can do that as grown men. No state in the US is banning gas cars in 2035. They are just banning gas only. And you will still be able to buy a plug in hybrid with a gas engine in those few states. No one will force you to plug it in.

Lol seriously we know it’s not about the environment. It has absolutely nothing to do with it, lithium mining is one of the dirtiest things to mine in the world dirtier than coal or oil with 0 ability to be recycled.

This is not a US problem it is a global one. The direction of travel even in the US is clear if a little slower than many. The banning of gasoline only cars, will be followed by the progression seen elsewhere in the world.

Not plugging in a PHEV is just silly.
